even on lowest settings possible i still fps lag to such an extent that i can hardly move :/ dunno why i dont struggle to play other games

PS2 is a memory whore. 8 GB of RAM and i still get massive FPS drops in big combat especially at night with all their lighting effects.

RAM has very little to do with that, you're CPU/GPU bound.

Well im running a Radeon5870 with 1GB DDR5 and i shouldn't have an issue running with that.  I only get problems in the night time or when im at high altitudes.

It's not a RAM problem though, like cmp said. I have a Radeon 5870 as well. The game is:

a) not completely optimized yet
b) very CPU/GPU heavy, meaning you need a good processor as well as a good gfx card to run on max on high fps, 1 gig of vid memory and the processor speed of Radeon5870 is not enough to get high fps when there's shitloads of stuff going on on your screen

The thing is that there were periods in beta when it ran perfectly smooth for me on medium to high settings.  during their continued optimization its gotten worse for me, which i find rather annoying.

Rolled New Conglomerate/Helios server like a baus. Only played for like 5 minutes though, didn't seem very special or unique

The solo / lone wold experience is the same as any FPS.  Probably worse because of the logistical requirements.  The squad play / coordination is by far the more enjoyable part of the game.

I have intel core 2quad cpu 8300 2.5gz processer, Nvidia gtx 450 and 6gb ram if thats not enough for the game to be playable on lowest settings then i wont play too expensive to upgrade

That's better than me (except for the CPU, i got a core2quad q6600), i got good FPS at lowest settings and playable in most areas at medium settings.

I run the game on full settings with a radeon 6800, 4 gigs of ddr2 ram (slow old ram), and a 6 core 2.6 GHZ proccesor.

In the biggeset battles i can get a little bit of lag, but even as a sniper its still perfectly playable. You gota upgrade your Proccesor, you may think what you have is good but its not your CPU is especially bad, the computer i had like 7 years ago had a dual core 3.0ghz which is alot better than what you have now. Best part is neither my proccesor or card was expensive when i bought em a year ago, if your in a decent financial situation you should have no problem affording new stuff. I have also heard that this game is particuarlly proccesor intensive. And i know in the psat i have had a really bad proccesor that was bottlenecking a good card. Or i assume your card is good i dont know Nvida i stopped buying them cause they kept buring out in 6 months.

EDIT: Also casimir your card is bad, i assume your CPU is too. So upgradeing will help you too if you want to.
