Well IMO op nights will hlep people get better aquainted with the importance of logistics.

E.g. did you know you can eject froma galaxy and recieve no damage.

Basic things like that which help people to save time getting to the fight.  Thankfully the new and improved tactical bus has reduced our logistical problems.  I may start certing into max as well as LA after all the meat grinders we keep gettign into. :D

True, it just might be the easy way to introduce them to logistics.

As for Galaxy, I thought you needed to cert that people ejecting from the Gal don't receive damage.

And yes, please do cert into MAX. I'm the only one certing into MAX right now I believe, and MAXes are useful when pushing chokepoints in bases. Freaking tanks when an engi is on you. First get the acquire timer down :)

its my old pc with a newer gfx card, so the cpu/ram is pretty behind but it barely actually matters for most games. its been a while since i payed attention to this stuff but more than 2 cores didnt used to give any advantage to gaming fps.
and while games are probably alot better optimised for quad now I really doubt that: "the ghz isnt really that important nowadays just the core count" is true.
you talk about 5 cores, I think you mean i5 which is 4 cores.

I found the minimum specs
http://help.station.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/35012/p/5833

according to that it only needs 2gb more ram, but its hard to believe it would actually make the difference from unplayable to playable.

It's a big difference now for some of these more processing intensive games. It's not about the frequency (we had Pentium 4's at 4 GHz in like 2002 remember?) or number of cores but the actual architecture -- the old Core 2 Conroes run off of 65nm technology which is pretty obsolete now. Like you I was pushing a Core 2 CPU from 2007 (e6600) up until last December. Didn't have any problems whatsoever running anything (Witcher 2, Skyrim, etc etc) until I tried playing BF3. Absolutely could not handle it. I made a slight side-step upgrade to a Q9550 (also 45nm like a lot of the more recent stuff.. though pretty soon everything will be run off of 22nm machines..) from ebay and now I can run everything at least decently. With my e6600 I was dead in the water with a select few of the newer titles even when pushing it to 3 GHz. We're at the point in time where software is finally at or reaching the potential of the current hardware where it wasn't so for the past half-decade/decade.

I also heard last night that the nords have joined the Vanu traitors. Luckily for them they have chosen to not play on woodman and as such are out of the reach of the glorious Calradian RePublican Guard!

Lucky, for you.  8-)

I'm still waiting to kill some of you scrubs on Woodman. Last night I was spending my time on a tech plant dropping C4 in a place where all the enemy medics where hiding and healing people. Got a good 20-30 kills by doing that a few times. Also super hilarious to watch them blow up, then wait for a surviving medic to resurrect a few of them and then throw a grenade.

Also, funny thing happened yesterday. I was playing a Max(spawned as light assault) when the server went down. When I relogged like 10 minutes later I spawned as light assault and went to Allatum Biolabs. In there I shot a few people from the roofs, then decided to destroy the generator. I dropped a C4 on the opposite side of the generator, where I couldn't see. Then I hid so that I had vantage point. Two guys came to turn it off, I blew up one of them and the other one noticed me so I shot him. Then 3 heavies enter the room and start shooting at me like crazy. And here's the fun part:

I killed all three though they emptied their clips in me. For some reason I didn't have shields like a light assault should. I had the health of a Max instead. I was laughing like crazy. Then the generator blew and I took on two more guys before they got me. Light Assault with max health. Win.

Haha, nice one Khorin.

Actually, Terran Mosquito fighters remind me of GDI's Orca fighters from Tiberian Dawn by the way.

They look mainly like Battlestar Galactica stuff to me.

And it's a shame I died. I wanted to find out whether I needed an engineer or a medic.

The TR fighter is OP compared to the other faction's fighters, especially the scythe which is the worst by far. Low HP is nothing when you are small (hard to hit) and have the best maneuverability. Kinda reminiscent of how the arabian warhorse is the best horse in cRPG. The scythe has terrible flying, and the NC fighter is way too bulky.

Btw, the vehicule starter bundle is even more awesome than the infantry starter bundle.

Sythe has alot of potential, but most people still cant fly them properly from what ive seen.  easy enough to get behind them and take em out with guns.

Protecting a tech plant with C4, around 20 of these kills have come from C4 and about 7-10 more from when I wait for medics to resurrect a few of the guys who blew up and then I kill them again with a grenade. And then I shoot whatever's left:

I had to hide because I was out of explosives and ammo for everything.

Playing a Vanu Terrorist is awesome.

EDIT: Oh, and this just happened:
