Tournament is a latinate origin word in english and derived from french yes, but it's not the actual french word. Like Olwen says, it's tournoi, which apparently has it's etymological roots in the word tournoyer, literally "to run around all over the place".

Ok, I first didn't know it was tournoi, the current term for it, since tournament was to be very likely it. Though the verb tournoyer (or tourneier) together with -ment is the old french word tourneiement. I think tournoi has the same meaning.

I should have time to take back over from exxc by the end of next week, make sure you get your initial team comps ready, i will first organize a couple of test matches to try out specific rule sets before the rules are to be finalized. Either teams that already have a basic line-up or clans will be asked to help out with these matches.

This means that during this period the nations that need to merge with others nations will be arranged.

I would also like to remind you that we still need more referees, having double coverage on matches would be ideal, furthermore for the teams that do not yet want to pick their 16 members remember that your teams line-up can be changed up to 4 days in advance of each match.

How can we post lineups without knowing the actual rules?

Until I know what I am actually working towards then my "lineup" consists of every single UK player that has so far attended a training or registered their interest.  That's about 25 - 30 players atm
