Heirloomed horses question

I was looking at the list of heirloomed items, and the stats for the horses seem strange.

Are these stats accurate?  They seem to LOSE hps, armor, and charge in the 2nd and 3rd gen, becoming weaker.  Thoughts on this?

example: Courser
Gen1= 110hit 24armour 48spd 42man 32chrg
Gen2= 105hit 18armour 50spd 44man 26chrg
Gen3= 105hit 18armour 52spd 46man 28chrg

That's what I'm saying.  As a cav, I usually only die when my horse is killed.  Increased HPs/armor is key.

It's weird to have some stats go up, and then down as other stats go up.  No other heirloomed items work like this, where you have to choose how many times to heirloom due to a loss of stats.  Other items just get better and better.

Why not just have ALL the stats go up, but by smaller amounts (1 or 2 points) so it is like other heirlooms?

Well the reason that happens is that you still want the game to be fairly balanced. The idea of heir-looming isn't to be able to have better stuff necessarily. It's more of being able to trade in your item for something that is more specific to your needs. Also, imagine if heir-looming stuff just gave you buffs and more buffs. Higher gen folks would just dominate newer folks and even higher gen folks would just simply annihilate in general.

simple answer is, stay with the heavy horse (first upgrade)

unless you're a speed freak and want a Champion Courser (the last upgrade)
A lot of people in the NA community know that Dach rages and in the process of his uncontrollable rage, he tends to kick people.

You've been warned! :twisted:

Don't listen to the idiot above me.

Your horse's speed and manouverability are key, they get you the kills.
The horses you have, are all for different situations. Overall, the horse with the most balance between manouverability and speed is best. While armoured horse may have more charge and survivability, that wont do you any good because of the recent developments. Everyone has a pike these days, plus cavalry is mroe numerous, one on one manouverability is key.
Don't mind the fish.

Hm I stayed with the heavy courser for a looong time, and it's fine, but now I realized I AM a speedfreak, so I got riding 8 at lvl 30 before I last retired, it wasn't enough for me, so now I finally go for the champion courser, I think it will take one arrow less, but I hope they will have more difficulties to hit me, too.

So I would say, if u don't plan to retire that often for a horse, stay with the heavy, it's fine. If you are really into riding and need the speed and stuff, do >75% of your kills from horseback, go for the champion, but I think spirited (between that) is a waste of time (at the moment I am there :-( )

Indeed.

Those Nomad, Sarranid or whatever horses can dodge projectiles like fighter airplanes. No joke.
Also they can circle around you, if a HA uses a horse like that to it's full potential, it will drive you insane.
