It's not even in alpha. So far, for what it is, it looks awesome. I've heard lots of people say that Warband looked like utter shit in beta. Until this reaches at least beta I won't criticise it. So far it's beginning to really shape up to look like a great game.

As of now I'm seriously looking forward to it.

Lol at people screaming "but it's pre-alpha!". Release date is in a couple of months, if you think the game is gonna change much you don't have the slightest clue about game development timelines. Unless they delay it, that is.

I doubt that's realistic. In one of the videos the guy mentioned they are going to be in Alpha for at least 4 months once they do get there. That release date is likely to change. The same way many games are delayed. I'm personally not expecting this until at least the very end of the year.

Chamberblocks ? Hell I'm not even sure I've seen feints in that game.

I believe there a few perks which sound like they might add mechanics like this.

Yes, I am excited.

1) It is still pre Alpha (If it's still pre Alpha by the end of next month that excitement will wain a little.)
2) It's in good hands.
3) They have so pretty great ideas
4) They will be having mod support

So look all you bone heads jumping up and down screaming, "the game isn't 1/10th complete and it isn't complete!" should just chill the fuck out. Any comment on the animations, or any fine tuning issue is more or less a complete waist of time.

Overdriven is right, M&B did look like shit in beta. I played it from .140 when it was 4$ to get into the beta and it was horrible... Even though I did play it none stop for a week. The combat was god awful the AI was worse, that's right worse than it is now. There was an NPC unit called 'Black Knights' and they were the scariest thing in a game EVER!

Point is, I never would have thought it would have become this. I wanted it to be but that seemed mostly impossible from where it was.

I'm cautiously optimistic about WotR right now, my opinion on it seems to sway a lot.

The main problem I have with the videos I've seen so far is that either nobody knows what the hell they are doing, or the game is really clunky (cannot tell since I'm not the one controlling it). I'm going to guess it's the former. Or perhaps they are too focused on commenting on what's going on to actually play, I'm fairly sure I would have difficulty doing that.

TotalBiscuit has done the best video on it so far from what I can tell.

They will be releasing an open alpha or beta of the sort which will be announced on their twitter.
the graphics look solid but as with any game it takes time to create some semblance of balance and a good control flow. I believe that when the game is released things like speed of swings, weapon damage and character movement will still be a bit clunky but once a community grows and suggestions on how to best balance the game it will sort itself out.

Don't judge the final outcome of the game on some very early footage.

not really excited, because i saw the videos.

aye of course a lot of fancy stuff, crests omg yea, armors are shinnnnyyy, there are perks, graphics looks nice... in fact they already included all the stuff that doesn't make the game a good game. but the essential part (combat) is somehow missing.

if i'd develop a game like this, i'd rather start with fine tuning the combat and adding the filling shit later. there is still some time to improve it though, but not really much.

it looky like crappy. there was a 12 where your head is suppose to be and when u slice people they dont even budge and there is huge white things on the screen indicating sword direction. looks like a kids version of mnb. regen arrows are the best idea yet

I don't get the problem with regening arrows. You start with 12 and they regen pretty fing slowly. Plenty of archers in crpg don't even use all their arrows in the battle time so what makes you think it's such a big change?
