Is anyone in the CRPG community actually excited for War of the Roses?

Yes. It's pre-alpha, don't judge anything you see yet. And from what I've seen, I'm very excited.

From what I've seen so far I doubt the gameplay is of the same quality as Warband. The visuals are just not ever going to be shiny enough to make up for that. Still, I think it will definitely a fun game, but not something that will last me longer than 50 hours.

Ofcourse all of this is judged from pre alpha footage, and it might become the best game ever. Really hope they will put out a demo, as of now I doubt I'll be willing to pay anything over 20 euros for it.

Thats okay, I can not count the number of people who are hardcore idk wtf is in their heads that Diablo 3 is the worst game of all time and there is no way its ever going to be a good game

Diablo 3 is a really good game and I've played beta for 5 hours straight but I'm simply not intrested in buying it and playing it.

Same goes for War of the Roses.

Chivalry on the other hand looks interesting, mainly because of 1st person view. I would play cRPG in first person view if game was balanced around it.

The auto-regenerate shield and ammo seems silly, especially when it says that your melee weapon can break. 

Though they do have some good perks, for a better personal character, you can't choose things to affect running speed, and they all seem to be able to run at the same speed.

I'll probably hop in the beta, or a pre-access before it's sold, but doubt i'll ever buy it.

Also, I have 2 or 3 Call of Duty games in my steam library, can't force myself to play any of them. But I can play CS:Source for few hours.

Hud, achievements, unlockables, all those shiny things they invented to attract teenagers aren't appealing to me at all.

Yes. I think it's a great game but I'm not interested in it anymore. World of WarCraft is a great game as well but I've played it for two months when it first came out.

One thing I'm really excited about, is the possibility that there won't be any rock-paper-scissors bullshit. I'm seriously hoping that a single player will be fully capable of killing any other player (or possibly even group of players) based on skill alone, without getting pigeonholed into having to avoid certain classes.

Lol at people screaming "but it's pre-alpha!". Release date is in a couple of months, if you think the game is gonna change much you don't have the slightest clue about game development timelines. Unless they delay it, that is.

It's pre-alpha gameplay footage but there's a reason they're showing the game. 

And that reason is that they think it's already representative of the final product. Why would they showcase their game if it'll be completely different at release?

Edit: Also what cmp said. If the release is in a couple of months, HAHA. The game's only going to change very minimally then, they can't work on it for the whole time either. The combat looks clunky and the whole feel is cheap arcade-y.

Have they set a concrete release date? I bet they will delay it/be late.
