Who here is excited for this game? I want to know because it looks like complete and utter shit.

People in plate are sprinting all over that map like fucking Flash which is why blocking is meaningless. People just hit and run.
The HUD is a cluttered mess.
The ranged ammunition and broken equipment(shields) REGENERATE.
Eye rape visuals with insane bloom and shadows.
Executions and revives that can be performed once someone is killed.

The developers are claiming it to be the Call of Duty/Battlefield of medieval games.

Here is some gameplay footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnNrHdihGSY

Is this the game where the "dodge" looks like a lag spike, or is that Chivalry that I'm thinking of?
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

Pretty sure that's Chivalry. It's in first person and has a horrible dodge.

I get the two mixed up all the time. One day I'm going to have to sit down and actually compare the two to get my head straight.

I'm looking forward to it, assuming they iron out some of the melee mechanics.

I absolutely love having things such as damage clearly spelled out in the interface. I hate how so many of the melee mechanics in Warband (hold bonus, speed bonus, weapon stun, etc) are hidden from the player. It adds an artificial hurdle to getting good at the game, without adding any real depth.

So long as the game has a melee system with as much depth as Warband (whether or not this happens remains to be seen), I'll be playing it.

I'm assuming they will fix most of these issues, or let us customize away the bad gameplay choices such as regeneration.

But there are also a few things I really like with warband I'm not sure will be there. Chamberblocks ? Hell I'm not even sure I've seen feints in that game.

I'm going to be completely honest.

With the amount of new people that are going to buy WotR I'm mostly looking forward to being a blocking god early on while people are figuring the controls out.

Other than that perk, I'm optimistically skeptical.

e: pre-alpha.  A lot of stuff changes from pre-alpha to release, but I feel like the core gameplay isn't going to be all that different. You can make a bunch of promises and excuses for things being bad in pre-alpha/alpha/beta, but how much actually gets changed?  I dunno, maybe 10, 15%?

Any idea if there'll be shield bashing? If not then it's worthless, graphics dont compensate for a bad gameplay.

Yes.
I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Not really.

I'm more excited for Chivalry and Warband 2.

Also that HUD is horrible, wish cRPG had only game chat and nothing beside that.
