@Leshma Nosferato is VERY tempting with the atmosphere and scares and shit but the damn animations the monsters have are sooo bad and funny at the same time it kinda ruins the horror in the game.

Still I'll probably buy it.

Just finished stalker call of pripyat, was not bad but not great either, it had some freezes and shit.

1 thing I really didn't like was that even if you shot say for example a zombie in the chest with a pistol or a shotgun said zombies keeps on moving as if nothing hit it and that was what makes those monsters that live in the cave near the petrol station so annoying (And the fact that they can turn while jumping.... I mean, what the fuck?).

Now looking for a new game to try.

Ever played the original Quake? Get an engine mod and try that maybe. Its not structured with a story and quite dated but it could be worth a try

The Original F.E.A.R was pretty awesome tbh. It had a great mix of horror and action... Something they were never really able to recapture with all of the sequels and expansions in my opinion. Ive never wasted so many bullets on nothing in a FPS.

Id suggest not looking at all of them as it will ruin the experience a bit for you if you decide to play. TBH nightmare house ripped alot of it's scary stuff off from this game.

I know, it is low budget game but has its (really) scary moments. Also, on hardest difficulty it's truly hard to beat and on top of that you have time limit to finish it because clock is ticking for those you have to save. I usually play all video games on hardest difficulty and beat them easily but this one seemed quite impossible for me.

Nosferatu is like a cheap copy of Undying. Undying has better story, better locations, better NPCs, monsters, pretty much everything but it's less scary than Wrath of Malachi.

Doom 3 can be scary, sometimes, in its own way.

F.E.A.R. isn't scary at all, at least not for me.

I'll probably buy nosferatu and cryostatis (Tough it's wildly known for it's bad performance and incompatibilities)

I'll take another peak at undying but the 2 times I watched gameplay videos it didn't quite grab my attention.

I beat doom 3 and while it turns fast from survival of ammunition to spraying every monster with bullets I enjoyed the ride till the end.

What I don't like about fear is the slow motion crap and that the game primary is an fps shooter with some scares. It's not always in a creepy/whatever atmosphere where you have to stay alert for god knows what could happen.

Also @Belatu wtf is that game lol? I watched a video with all the death scenes and it was really hilarious

F.E.A.R for some reason doesnt feel scary at all and Dead Space makes me laugh.   And Amnesia is the only game that acctually made me shit pants only because they dont give u a gun to shoot things with. But yea, you mainly have played all the good and hardlyscary horror games out there.

But that raises a question. Why u want horror : Its the most failing movie and game genre out there. Very few of em are actually scary or even entertaining.

And why u buy all your games? Giving money to gamecompanies that really dont deserve it just makes em braver to make more crap. For instance those jackasses that make you pay 80€ for 70% of the game and than ask about 40€ for the every DLC that adds 10%.

Why I buy horror games?

That's simple, these type of games are the most games which provide variety, interesting stories and atmosphere. Most rpgs, actions, shooters and adventure games are very similar in their stories and gameplay which gets old after some time.

There's no rpg nowadays that I bought for the story but more for it's contents and gameplay.

Why buy them?

Duh because companies need money to produce games? If x games seems interesting to me I'll buy it, if it's not that interesting I'll wait a price drop. (And if it's not worth the cost I'll torrent)

I recommend everyone to try No More Room In Hell, a high quality half life 2 mod (Requires Source SDK downloaded). Nice and immersive, not like L4D.

No more room in hell is extremely buggy so no use in playing it for now, I'll wait for it to have a more stable beta version.

Lone Survivor while the concept is good the pixelated graphics, the character's mask looks like he's grinning and it's length at 4 hours to beat not sure I'd try it anytime soon.... Even the "zombies" look bad, when they move they look like they're dancing.
