Punish people who sign up to neutral factions and don't show

Seriously, they should lose major gold or xp.

Hospitaller just got to take Yruma with 2:1 roster advantage because half the NPC mercs didn't show.

do that and the same people just won't apply to the castle and the odds will be the same anyways.

Honestly, I'd like to see this. The victory today feels hollow, seeing as it was 2:1. There needs to be some sort of punishment for not showing up to strat battles.
Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is our oath.

Also I apologize to any Hospitallers I was flaming.

Nothing personal I was pissed off because of this roster thing. Gets frustrating being spawn camped and fighting 1 vs 2, 1 vs 3 for an hour.

There's already a system in place, to some extent...

If you don't show, you lose reliability points.  I think the game accepts people based on some formula... I don't know what the formula is but it SHOULD be biased heavily towards reliability rather than performance.  A 10 performance, 1 reliability guy isn't as good as a 2 performance, 8 reliability guy.  He's less than useless if he doesn't show up.
Crush your enemies; see them driven before you; hear the lamentations of their women.

That castle is a horror show to defend TBH, you would need a very organised group + a good counter siege team to hold it. Lots of easy options to attack that can't be defended unless the defenders know they need to ladder up to those spots.

Good news everybody! It's not nut cancer :)

I wouldn't know, I was being camped in a tower the whole time, outnumbered on both sides of it if we tried to push out.

I agree it's pretty easy to get on the walls, but if it was 1:1 the attackers would at least have to fight on the walls man to man against faster spawning defenders, which would mean heavy casualties. Instead they only lost 900 tickets, taking a 2500 population castle, ending it with a flag win near the end.

It's not that there's no mercs enthusiams, lots of people would sign up for D, it's great xp. You what seems to be the equivalent of a 5x for an hour, but with no gear upkeep costs. But if someone signs up, is accepted, and doesn't show, it fucks over the whole system. That's why there needs to be harsh penalties for that, to discourage it or it completely unbalances strat and invites cheating too (getting friends to sign up for NPC defence, who never intend to show up).

Well if it's weighted to "performance"  than the people who actually did honour their committments and showed up got really fucked. A 1:2 k/d was a decent performance against those odds and only 2 people on the roster managed better than 1:2 scores... Most were closer to 1:3, 1:4, 1:5.

The battle was a joke.

Seeing as neutral castles defences can have ~90 defenders there is no reason for the castle ever to have less people.

That sucks about the turnout, these can be some of the best battles.

Maybe npc fief defenses need more hands on refereeing, like anyone could sign up for them and then an admin/dev type does a roster check-in during hour before the battle.  Hiring based on the order that you signed up first and then in the last ten minutes replacing people who didn't show with people in the duel server on standby, like when you're trying to catch a flight.

The npc fiefs are notoriously dickish too, unhiring people after having them on the roster most of the day to replace them with a level 31+ guy that might not even show.  I don't think the AI should look at level or performance, just reliability.

Well there needs to be a better system...you should have to "confirm you're online like 15 minutes before the battle if you sign up for AI.

Also making it so you're anonymous to the attackers would be nice, then people wouldn't be worried about signing up in force against an attacking faction.

Hospi attack Tulga city, 25 people on defence roster no-show giving them 2:1 advantage soldier again. Over half of the no-shows are EU players BTW, why even sign up for a NA battle at 5am like that if you're iffy about making it? Defenders barely manage to avoid a couple of total spawn camps, Hospi still ends up with 2:1 kill ratio, helped by some multi-minute partial spawn camping they do achieve.
