Same problem, launcher sends me to trial mode and cd key is wrong format. Works at the moment by going through steam directly and ignoring error messages for not going through launcher.

The other day I was able to play cRPG by just bypassing the launcher and skipping the Steam key/error messages. Now even that doesn't work.

Ok, so...what exactly happens if you use the 5x5 key converter? Does it just give you a new 4x4 cd key that creates a new user/player account or something? It seems to me that this non-registered version doesn't run WSE which is causing the problem.

Ive tried most solutions in the thread and steam still asks me for a key every time, so I guess with 1.152 5x5 keys are screwed from playing?

So, it does work then. I was just worried about this statement from the OP:

if your CD key is 5x5 and doesn't fit, click here to obtain a valid CD key don't do this or you're fucked. If you did this and you're fucked, start Warband from steam once to unfuck it.

Did you try manual activation, it should forward you to a website where you can submit your key and if I recall correctly the 5x5 keys should work there too.

Is there any way to prevent key bindings from reverting to default when switching from crpg to another module and vice versa?

I was worried about the warning in the OP too, but Meow directed me to that thread and it actually worked without any problems yet, you just input your key and it gives you a 4x4 to activate manually with. From the other thread,

Warband 2010 Steam European release (it might not work on every release)

What finally worked for me:

1. install and update "Steam" Warband

2. install cRpg launcher

3. when asked for activation go here: http://www.taleworlds.com/main.aspx?dir=convertserial.aspx

4. write your 5x5 serial , get new shorter serial

5. instead of normal activation choose OFFLINE activation (the one at the bottom)

6. there u will see your Hardware Hash number. Follow the link to get your off-line activation number. Use Hardware Hash and your new serial.

7. Activate with the long number you just got and play by pressing "play CRPG" in the Launcher.

8. Go to any server NA or EU. If you're still getting WSE warrnings -restart the game.

9. After one restart warning will be gone and everything should be working (to be sure play rageball as it absolutely needs WSE to work)

10. Enjoy!

Same here. No issues at all with getting in game, but when i get in game it's all rubber bands and mystery walls. Have 15ish ping and have never had this constant and severe of a lag issue. Tis for to suck. Mod is DED!

Tested something with graphics last nights because I had many lags.

Result:

Low graphics = low FPS ( 50-80 on most maps)

High graphics = high FPS ( 100-120 )

Whatever they did while they created the game and graphics.. its strange.
So, try to max your graphics.
