Haven't read a single post except of the OP so sorry if this has already come up, but i simply did this (only for Win7 users i think):

Find your Warband directory, right click it, restore previous versions, choose latest, copy, delete warband and paste into the empty space. 

Took 15mins to copy am in eu2 now works perfect.
