Oh, you mean the English Themed flag that is not modern Britain but the Proper Three Goldens Lions on a red background used in proper medieval times? Yeah... I can totally... No wait... No I don't see your point at all.
This has nothing to do with nationalism.
So basically, using your example of allowing modern day flags, I can start a clan and use this for the banner pack?
At this point, it's not even argument. You clearly went out of your way to find a flag that included blatantly modern symbolism. I would be fine with, say, the modern French flag or the modern German flag. We're just expressing conflicting beliefs. I'm still curious as to why it offends you more than...say...the SNSD banner.
Would you be pleased if they used a white star on a blue background surrounded by concentric white and red circles instead? Or the heraldic eagle in white on a background of blue with red and white stripes on the bottom?
@Niemand: I was recently reminded of how much people hated Americans when I went on vacation in South-East Asia, but I had no idea that there were Europeans who equated the United States with chocolate chip cookie Germany.
Last I checked, we were pretty big on freedom on equality- speaking as someone who grew up in a Muslim country with parents who aren't American. But I digress.
It's still a wonder to me that this has caused more offense than so many other banners that I would've expected it from, on a basis that doesn't add up. It would make more sense to simply say 'I am specifically offended by the American banner' than 'it's too modern' or something along those lines.
Ultimately, c-rpg's lore is built on a patchwork of many influences. Anime, inside jokes, internet memes, fantasy, and pseudo-history among them. There is no role-play, so I'm still at a loss as to why you'd have an issue with this. Anyway, go get the Alternative pack if you want more 'realism'.
