i can't believe how you guys fail at killing maulers. god damn, they are too slow, it's bloody easy to avoid an incoming maul attack.

Mauls do not = good at game. Mauls, like every weapon, are tools. The tool is only as good as the one who uses it. Anyone with good enough footwork can beat some noob with a maul. Someone who knows what he's doing with a maul is a dangerous man indeed but not unbeatable. You also have to take the weight and the speed into account. Most times if you see someone with a maul they're going to be a tin can or in peasant gear. If it's a tin can then dance around them. If it's a peasant then Dance and hope that you can 1 hit him.

Mauls on broken on SIEGE. I don't play battle, but I'm sure mauls are balanced there. On ladder-centric maps, 4-6 maulers can easily defend the castle against 30+ attackers, which is ridiculous.

For the purpose of this poll, add an option for leaving mauls as is but remove their ability to block (chambers excepted). After all, they negate your block, why should they get to deftly block your weapon with their huge hammer?

Mauls are fine.  I'd be happy to see the Iberian made get an occasional crushthrough against weapon-blocks though.  Not shields, weapons.  Right now I find there are too many swords, and a small random chance crushthrough on maces would make it more interesting.  How would people feel about:

- 1h maces get % chance to crushthrough on overhead attacks, with some regard given to STR and weapon weights
- 1h attacks that crushthrough cannot knockdown with the same swing
- crushthrough would not work against shielders (this is so that axes can keep their niche)

By and large swords have length, speed, and sometimes damage over 1h maces.  This seems like a fun change that I'd welcome.  I don't see it imbalancing the classes since 1h maces are already so short that it's not as if they're hard to dodge, especially their overhead strikes.  Of course weapon prices would adjust accordingly :)

This wear I see the abuse mainly as well. It's easy to say dodge them you noob, except when your on a rampart and there are 2-3 of them in a wall formation specced for 80+ hp and 70 armour. It's like a freaking tsunami lol. They just gonna sweep across the whole rampart.

And yes, if you have an experienced player defending a siege ladder with a maul, essentially anyone going up is a free kill. Too add, on siege, I observed that 90% of the time the top player on at least one side is a mauler - and it's never the same person - just a mauler.

Read the poll wrong. Take one off "none" and add one to "knockback and crush."

I don't think anything should bypass blocking, I understand crushthroughs use vs shields and I think that's a good idea but given block is the single most important part of the games skillset bypassing it at all seems stupid.
