For me, as a French speaker, German sounds extremely ugly. I think the same of all the guttural languages I know. For some reason shouting orders or talking to dogs seems to be their only valid use.

Btw, Dutch is some sort of a light and lazy version of German.

Really, though, it's just that German utilizes the whole mouth whereas English is almost entirely from the front -- that is, when I speak English I can feel almost every sound originate from the tip of the tongue and the lips.  In German there's a lot more sound that comes from the middle/back of the tongue, which you typically only do in English if you are yelling.

That's my 30 second language analysis for the day.

German is funny to hear... no offense but i always laugh when my friend speak german...

Ok this ain't German fault it's just that my friend weight like 50 kg for 6feet 4 inch so seeing him speak this harsh language is just too funny.

Honestly, that sounds a lot like dutch or something.

"Einen Salat mit light-Dressing, bitte"

Would be more appropriate.
Maybe it woud be better for me to find out where you life and kill you when you are satch a Soziopath. You have enough now.

What imo is really ugly about Dutch language  are those "achhh" "khhrrrhh" sounds,( i dunno if the majority of  Dutch speak like that)example http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/830751/8e1d83da/wie_de_neuq_is_sven_kramer_.html    "ACCHHCCHHH" "KHHHHKCHRHHHH"

another  exaple http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-7jE2IBW7o -- even tho i have to say that the guy interviewed in the video (a legend) doesn't make that ugly "achhh" sound ( or at least i don't notice it much )

Yes, Dutch is one of the few languages that utilises the kch sounds a lot. I believe most non Dutchmen cant even properly do it. The sound is utilised by most Dutch people. In the south however the sound is less pronounced. We call that speaking with a soft G. My guess is Ramon Dekkers must be from the south.

To me as a Dutchman German sounds even more guttural and harsh then Dutch. If the chocolate chip cookie's had been french I think they would've been less intimidating. There is just no better language for shouting and being angry than German.

I´m surprised that everybody considers german an angry language, while i think that the russian language sounds mouch more agressive to me aswell as Scandinavic languages. (i´m german though)

But well i guess that is based on the fame of the einstein Speeches and bands like Rammstein.

For me as german dutch sounds like the illegitimate bastard of german and english, when you can speak one of the two languages you can understand most of it^^

Arabian.

The Arabian Language is just perfect for angry shouting and cursing.

Russian is pretty neat, too.

In the End, it´s all up to pronounciation.

Although you will have a hard time winning a verbal fight if you speak french against pretty much any language.
