104th Mount and musket excursion today

Anyone thought of taking this MM line battle approach to cRPG (it may have happened already sometime in the past i don't know, hence the question)?

What i mean is organised (some would say over-regimented) collection of clans provide members to fulfill specific functions on battlefield for a 'set-piece' battle on a specially selected/created map. Each section commanded by thier own leadership with an overall 'king, duke, baron' commanding.

Maybe it steps on Strategus toes or is too similar? Its fun in MM but the big numbers make it laggy at times i guess, not sure how it would play in cRPG

Mount&Gladius has linebattles. It is populated sometimes and they all suck in melee

I actually care about this. And of course you are right to a certain extent. Randomly behaving like a retard is somewhat questionable.
What was especially fun about the 104th was that we only used everything that was in theme with the game. Lines, columns, musicians and punishment of those not following strict disciplin. I would almost, almost, go as far as to say we were having fun within the boundaries of the setting provided in the game.

The amount of people asking to join our regiment was not by trolls. It was people who thought we were good players with lines. I think that combination just annoyed them a bit...
