Maybe someone already made this, but I want to discuss this build pro and contra.

Equip:
Old Board Shield on back (cheap shield with good coverage)
Green Norman Shield (mid-tier shield with good coverage, usable on horseback)
Nordic Short Sword (only weapon with good statistics and 3str requirements. Still possible bump\slash)
Plated Charger (main weapon of build)

Yes, origin of this build is Michael's build. But even Michael didn't have impenetrable, self-healing shield.

Main question - what your character can do to counter this build?

nah, you need sword to counter Tennenoth's «Ban you». Because you need to have «weapon». With 46 charge damage there no sense to use sword.
And if this guy is decent cav with awareness? It's not too difficult to turn shield and block ANY your attack Torben.

So, I've got 2 questions now.

1. Someone check couche attack on shielder with 13 shield skill? Can you broke his shield?
2. What «Forcefield» can have horseman with big shield and 13 shield skill?

am am sure a plated charger cant be protected everywhere by any sort of shieldskill,  but its just a huntch.  would be fun  to see you on the field for sure,  gl

Thank you Torben, but this is hypothetical build. I'm not interested in any Michael's inheritance, and i'm really bad as cav.


All I wanna know - what you can do in this situation, because standart means do not work with Horseman-shielder. You cant bump\kick him, and chances to crushtrough him is low.

Depends on the shield how much exactly, but if I recall correctly the body armour of the shields is partially added to your own body armour when calculating the damage from a hit by a bolt or arrow.

You've got passive body armor bonus from shield body armor against ranged damage.

So, hipotetical, you can receive (base 25 armor points from Gambeson + mail mittens) + (Nonloomed Steel shield 74 body armor) = 99 body armor. Add negative speed bonus.

Depends on the shield how much exactly, but if I recall correctly the body armour of the shields is partially added to your own body armour when calculating the damage from a hit by a bolt or arrow.

AFAIK the arrow has to physically hit the shield model for the armor to be added (I don't believe the shield skill forcefield is factored in for back shots), leaving the back of your head and legs partially exposed when wearing a steel shield on your back. I could be mistaken, however.

I know that 10 + the body armor of the shield is added to your body armor vs ranged attacks if those conditions are met. This would mean that you only gain 10 body armor vs ranged attacks with the old board shield.
