Stupid thread is stupid. All players should get valour no matter their playstyle. Someone just doesn't like cav and has a boner for honor.

Also Bob, how much PS do you use to get torch kills? My torch alt always bounces off of armored people with like 6 PS.

It's not that I don't like cavalry, considering I play as cavalry half the time, and even I agree that it has no honor in it. And yes. I get rock hard when people say "honor."

The fact that *most* cav spend their time back stabbing everyone is not something anyone can deny. Like I said, not all cav, I've seen a bunch that are truly good and impressive cav, notably that 1-hander cav that's making a resurgence. They are genuinely cool to watch, obvious in their skill and even fun to fight.

The main issue I find is that of all weapons a polearm being used from horse back is the most deadly. I know of no other weapon that has such a high 1-shot kill rate. On the off-hand I know of no weapons so easily blocked (except maybe for polearm and shield). What I'm getting at is: the people playing cav aren't the issue so don't rage at them; the issue is the game mechanics related to cav. These game mechanics are engraved in stone all the way back to the first Mount and Blade. And frankly I don't see what can be done about them.

The amount of people that keep posting "stop raging" is pretty bad, at the moment. Please look for the large red text in the pages that you skipped, and read over the original thread again.

Ok so you think there is no honor in being a cav because all we do is backstab people, hunt peasants and delay the game?

Let me set things straight. I do not by far backstab people all the time. I charge at two handers, shielders, archers, xbowmen and even people with small pikes from the front a lot of times and they all see me coming. And I kill them. They have a chance to dehorse or hit me and I use my maneuver and timing to outplay them (I fail at that plenty of times). I dont think this is any different to infantry vs infantry.

As for hunting peasants, thats just nonsense. I want to win, not have the biggest score. When a peasant crosses my way I throw in a stab, yes. Just like any infantry would do. If I miss I go on for bigger fish. (I see infantry chasing a peasant for miles sometimes) If there is a peasant and an armored guy walking next to eachother I definately go for the armored guy. (Maybe give the peasant a little bump )

Delaying the game? No, never. When I am the only one left against a big number I will just try to kill as many as possible and eventually get dehorsed and killed. When I am up against, lets say, 10 infantry that are left, I take my time( if there is enough time) and try to take them out because I know I have a chance.

Many cav think like me and act like me. I think what you are referring to is the beginner/amateur cav.

OP's right we need to nerf cav.

The current horse models need to be replaced by a unicycle, and the cav player should have to play a "balancing" mini game while riding in order to stay mounted. That, or have it so that players' w-a-s-d keys get randomly switched around while on horseback, and/or their monitor has x% chance of turning off mid-game.
