Precisely what i had in mind, why not add a bit of diversity and allow both arming swords or at least limit the shorter one to 1h infantry and the longer one to 1h cav ? Its the armor + helmets + shields that makes us all look similar to each other which is a pleasant sight for the eye but i think that we could have some more weapon diversity.

Don't forget that the Samurai's have no shields at all, while the knights will be using longbows and crossbows, so yeah, we have to have an advantage somewhere.

Nothing stops the organization to get weapons in surplus, only certain very good items will have to be limited. So it doesn't matter if the precise classes of your team are unknown if you can just buy 100 hafted blades.

I'm afraid that your fears are justified, randomers are often a liability for the team as they are unable to listen even the most simple orders/rules/advices. Let's hope we don't see too many of those signing up.

Since i never ever bought or used a single piece of any Ninja/Samurai equipment in my cRPG history then i recon the tradition will continue - I'll sign 10 (for the moment, might have some extra for subs if others fail to show up like the last time) Bandits for the Knights side (hell we'd probably be a knightish clan if they weren't already taken by the time i created one).
