Epic cRPG Battle of History part I : Samurais vs Knights

This question has been asked by millions of forum nerds and wannabe-historians. Wikipedia is shamelessly raped, google is molested, everywhere across the Globe we can hear the lamentations of women. It is time to end this debate once and for all and find out who would win in an open field battle - an army led by the famous European Knights or the honourable Japanese Samurais !



Byzantium clan and me personally proudly present the new series of cRPG events - Epic cRPG Battles of History (ECBH). In this series of events cRPG players , thanks to the new Battle Groups system provided by the developers, will be able to participate in some of the most controversial and interesting matchups, both historical and fictional.

How it works :

1) 2 battle groups are created on the website by me or/and one of the other organizers. The equipment for teams will be handpicked carefully to provide both an image of historical accuracy and decent balance for the matchups.

2) People/clans sign up for whichever side they prefer, commanders are selected for both teams.

3) There is no limit or certain number of players per team, isntead we would like to see as many people as possible to sign up. Note that for multiple reasons ,however, the best gear for the teams will be limited and it's up to commanders to pick their elite warriors with the best equipment.

4) It is allowed for the organizers to switch clans/players to the other team in case too many sign up for one side.

5) 1hr before the event , participants are to start gathering on Nditions TeamSpeak (62.104.20.250:10027), you will find a channel called "Events" and subchannels for team 1 and team 2.

6) Organizers will give pin codes for the commanders of both teams and the name of the server on which the event will be held. Read more about how it works here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,24621.0.html.
 
7) Event starts once both teams are ready. The battles will be 15 rounds long (might be changed later).

Equipment list for the teams (note that the best gear will be limited depending on the number of players, the core of the armies will have medium equipment) :

Armors :  padded leather +Helmet with Neckguard+leather gloves+leather boots ------> white mail with surcoat +guard helmet+ mail gauntlets+mail chausses -----> White Transitional Armor with Surcoat + great helmet+ Hourglass Gauntlets+ iron greaves---> one  armor set preferred by the Commander

Shields : Black and White Kite Shield ------> Knightly Heater Shield


1h weapons :Short Sword---> Arming Sword ------> military hammer

Polearms : pike, English Bill, war spear, poleaxe,great lance

2h weapons : Heavy Bastard Sword,  Sword of War,Morningstar


Ranged weapons : longbow, heavy crossbow, bolts, bodkin arrows

Horses : War Horse

Armors : light strange armor set +light strange helmet+leather gloves-----> strange armor set +strange warmask+wisby gauntlets-----> heavy strange armor set + heavy strange warmask + red wisby gauntlets ----> one PanzerMarine set for Commander Georges


Polearms : long spear, long hafted blade,ashwood pike, long hafted spiked mace, lance.

2h weapons : katana,barmace, nodachi

1h weapons : wakizashi,spiked mace

Horses : Palfrey, Arabian War Horse

Ranged Weapons : Yumi Bow, Bodkin arrows.

Commander for the Samurai Team : PanzerMarine Captain Georges of Byzantium.

Commander for the Knights team : Tristan of the Guards.

why do the samurai get a barmace which was widely used in europe instead of your weeaboo studded bat and why do the knights not get Destriers? which is what they rode and why a bastard not a longsword? otherwise <3

@ Rage Gey don't forget to mention what team you'd like to be in =)

@ Osiris - don't forget that in order to make it fun for both sides we have to balance some things out, this time it's mainly cavalry. Knights get heavy horses , shields and 1hers +great lances, whereas samurais are getting small manouverable horses and normal lances. Also , Japanese used a wide variety of blunt mace-type weapons, including the steel ones. Otherwise the Knights Team gets a much better weaponry .

Heavy Bastard Sword = Longsword -1 length - 1500 gold

make it realistic! we dont want no weeaboos to have a chance pfft.. plus i think you will find few lancers who prefer warhorse and great lance to arabian and lance

Hi,

We will be there preferably on the Knights side with 5-10 fighters (Pending amount).
