I must say I'm impressed. They've managed to bring cia.gov down, that takes some balls and skills.

Looks like the real world isn't enough for the U.S government, they have to "neo-crusade" in the internet as well.

Fools. At least this didn't cost them trillions of dollars..
From a debt like theirs, I'd play internet police force anytime, bunch of cowards.

Believe me, at least of the people I know, we are well aware of how fucked up our government is. The big issue is how the hell to fix it. With 2 parties in power that are essentially controlled by the media, we are given some really shitty choices on who to vote for. Of course, there are always the candidates from other parties, but the issue there is the sheer number of people who either don't give them any credit for being able to win, or who simply follow what the media tells them and don't bother to question it.

I find it rather interesting that our media constantly rages for and against things like abortion and gay rights, while the government passes increasingly strict laws allowing them to have further control. Thankfully the SOPA and PIPA bills were caught and exposed by, what else, the internet before being passed.

It is illegal for us to film, or record in essentially any way, police officers on duty without their direct consent. In fact, the penalty for doing so is the same as rape. This is something that, imo, should be front page news and have people protesting in the streets, and yet other than a few pockets of the internet, it's totally silent. No media coverage.  :|

I think anyone with ANY knowledge of piracy could have predicted this, but because the idiots in charge don't, we have numerous people in jail for decades and a lot of completely legal material lost.

Makes me sad that you guys care so much. I mean, I love you all for caring, but, why? THIS photo should tell you all you need to know about the society that capitalism is aiming for

Also, yes I thought the above cartoon was very apropriate, GOOD for annonymous for DDOS'ing a few websites, its hardly a hacking masterclass tho is it?

Isn't it like that in Britain already? I mean the 24/7 Cameras EVERYWHERE.
Not just in places like shops, or other places, but basically everywhere you go.

That's what I heard.

I did try very hard, but I fail to find the link between abuse of watch and capitalism.

At least in London this is true, but I don't know about the rest of the country.

Went there last Summer for a study abroad thing, cameras are everywhere. It seems it has helped them catch more criminals, but hasn't done anything to drop the crime-rate.
