Welcome mapmakers to the EU_crpg_Melee mapmaking competition
The EU_crpg_Melee server is in need of some fresh new maps and you, players, are in need of cold hard cash
1st place = 500k crpg gold
2nd place = 200k crpg gold
3rd place = 100k crpg gold
Maps should be small: The size of native arenas or a bit larger. These maps are intended for a 30 man melee only server.
Scenery and terrain: You can decorate the map with whatever you want but keep in mind that too much hills/slopes is bad for melee combat. If you will put houses in the maps unbreakable ladders that lead to roofs are unnecessary as there is no ranged on this server.
How to get your map in the competition:Post it here with a brief description, a link to your map and some screenshoots:
Atleast some screenshots are mandatory (1st team spawn, 2nd teams spawn and a bird view of the map)
Maps will be tested and probably voted for on a poll. The exact process of how the winners are chosen is yet to be decided.
Can i submit more than one map and potentialy win more than one prize?
Yes. There is no limit on how many maps a person can submit. One person could potentially win all the gold.What about city/village maps?
You can make whatever you wish but keep it simple. This is for a melee only server so it should be pretty straightforward.When will the winner be known?
Depends on the turnout from the mapmakers and on the pace of the adding/testing/voting. Cant tell for sure, but the money wont go anywhere What about adding trees?
Trees are pretty and you should definitely add some if you wish. Dont overdo it tho, fps is very important for melee fighting.Whats the deadline for this competition?
There is none. It will be open untill it is decided that a sufficinet amout of maps has been posted. There is no exact number atm. If you need time to make a map you can post here that it is in the making and we will wait for your work to be done.Must the map(s) we submit be exclusive to the 'EU_crpg_Melee' server or would it be okay if the same maps were hosted elsewhere?
They dont have to be exclusive, if it meets the parameters metioned it will be in the competition.Thanks for reading. Now all you have to do is make some great maps!
