I am curious how you differentiate besides IP.

I live at a dorm with more than 400 residents all sharing the same fixed external IP. I know of at least 3 that plays the game however they are both inactive. I cannot however say for sure if more are playing. It would not be entirely unlikely.

If I find my account banned I'll contact you.

They must be able to see the MAC address of the PC you connect from.  So if you connect from different PCs they may think you're sharing your account with someone else (which may only be an issue if you play strategus).  Or if you ever allow your bro/friend to play on their account on your PC you should probably let them know.  If they play on their own PC then I'm assuming they are able to see the different MAC addresses.

My friend from Greece is banned for long time. Since xmas is very close and he's very poor , we are gathering money to buy him another cd key so he can play crpg..

So, first cd key is not usable because he's banned because some turk guy or something couldn't mute him, is it multi acc if he starts playing with the new one?

It's not multiaccounting, but knowing Panos I'm quite sure it won't take long until he's banned again.

Well it sure gets you muted if you wanna troll here...but in case you are serious i do not know how it could be made any clearer:

I didn't ask people with brothers/friends playing at their home, I asked people who multiaccount.
I'll say it again, this is only for those who have multiple accounts.
You don't? You're ok, no need to post here.
Multi-accounting is one person having several keys.

The MAC address routing is done in a subnet per subnet basis. In a plug & play fashion. I don't see why they would have any way to get the MAC address of the cRPG client machine. The Internet doesn't need it (outside of your subnet, that is).

Anyway, MAC address spoofing is ridiculously easy.

Btw : I have another account that I used to create one STF char (back when it was "either STF or normal" on a per account basis and without cooldown), maybe a couple of months ago. I don't remember when I used it for the last time and I never registered into Strat with it. You can safely ban that key, but not my first key ofc. =)

What???

Where did you hear that????

Nor in WoW, nor in SWTOR, nor in EVE online has anyone ever said "you cant have 2 accounts".

Quite the contrary! Companys love selling more copies of their games as it means you actually bought it again and again!

I can understand the "you cant have multi-accounts cause of Strategus" part (dubious as that may be...) but why not for normal CRPG?

Sorry for breaking off topic, just had to address the above statement.

Multiaccounting is forbidden in almost all F2P games because it usually allows you to do "push", helping your first account with the easily-obtained resources of secondary accounts. And it clutters the database.

and my mother sometimes play crpg as well :( plz don;t ban uzz :(

I think he's actually serious

Yes, spoofing mac addresses is relatively easy and pretty much anyone can follow a tutorial on how to do it.  I doubt many people would go through the effort.  If you run windows packet capture with ethereal I'm pretty sure you get the mac address when a client communicates with your PC, so obviously the mac address information is sent when completing the network handshake when a client connects to a server.

Hello, I want to ask
I T_sgt_zDevilBox and my brother Gregari, we play 2 computers simultaneously, whether it means Multiaccounting? And whether we will receive for it ban?
If yes, that to us to do?
