I can't check peoples weapons during the tourney - we need to keep things going and not stall. Furthermore, I don't think the use of masterworked weapons is just as great as the use of mass loomed armors (Loomed body, head, hand and leg armor). You can argue xbows and archers can get bigger bonuses, but I still find those factors small since there can be a max of 2 ranged in a team.

And no, it is not necessary for ranged to wear the same armor, but getting something that fits with the general style (For you I would guess Pilgrim outfit) is good.
