Morningstar on horseback

Here's the issue. Morningstar has an 82 length. On the ground, it uses the two-handed animation, which lessens its effective length by about 12. This is fine. However, while on horseback, it uses a 1 handed animation, which gives it an effective bonus range of 12. Unless this can be addressed, I think that it needs to be added to the group of Can't be used on Horseback weapons. It appears to belong there anyhow, regardless of the added reach issue.

Wrong. 2h animations doesn't reduce the length. It extends it. 2hands have to biggest length bonus from animations, polearms have the least.

Here you can see it:

EDIT: For those wondering. The "base" length is for the 1h left to right swing.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Hey Professor,

Read the problem on the board again before you whip off a url to your latest study. We are talking about the difference between a 1 handed grip and a 2handed grip NOT POLES/2HANDER. Let me explain physics to you. It takes more room for 2 hands on a grip than 1 hand. Since that 1 hand is at the end of the weapon and you dont have to keep it close enough to your body for that second hand on the opposite side of your body to also grasp it, you get a RANGE INCREASE. Not to mention that the numbers you posted back exactly what I said.

1h
Right-to-left = +19

2h
Right-to-left = +13

You don't even know how to interpret your own results

We don't need a 101+ length 1 handed weapon with 38 pierce on slashing. Show me another weapon with anything close.

I believe just about every 1h does more damage, because of the penalties 2Hs get when used on a horse. There was a post about this somewhere, but I really can't be bothered to look it up.

Also those numbers zapper posted are pretty much fact, they've been tested quite a few times. However, they relate to those weapon types used while on the ground. Mounted animations are completely different. Aren't the mounted animations for using a 2h or 1h weapon the same?

So what? I never see anyone using one on horseback anyway it's still too short and 1h animations makes it slower.

Thread is a waste. There are many issues in the mod that need looking at, Morningstar from horseback ahs already been nerfed, or does noone remember crushthru sideswing?

The penalty for using 2h, 1h/2h or pole on horse is roughly 30% speed and damage reduction. Only pure 1h escapes it.

On horse, all swing weapons (apart from LHB and HB) use the 1h animation. This means that 2h have a longer reach on the right-to-left swing, but lose reach on all the others. Not that difficult really, unless you're an idiot. Which reminds me...

HEY THERE IDIOT!

Read my answer before you show yourself like a complete ass. Exactly where did I talk about 2h/pole reach? I was mentioning ALL OF THEM, listed the reach advantage and showed you that 2H GAINS REACH FROM THEIR ANIMATIONS AND DOES NOT LOSE LIKE YOU CLAIM. HAVING 1H ANIMATIONS ARE BAD FOR 2H BECAUSE THEY ARE THEN SHORTER IN ALL BUT 1 ATTACK DIRECTION! (Caps to make it easier for the monkey to read it.)

Let me explain physics to you.And the numbers I posted "back exactly what I said"?

Ok, you are right I was totally wrong. Let's go over it:
Left to Right: 1h +0   2h +17   2h wins.
Right to Left: 1h +19 2h +13   1h wins.
Overhead:     1h +0   2h +15   2h wins.
Thrust:          1h +61 2h +80   2h wins.

YOU ARE RIGHT! THIS CLEARLY SHOWS THAT 1H ANIMATIONS ARE BETTER! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US ALL WHAT A TOTAL RETARD YOU REALLY AREN'T! GOOD THING YOU SHOWED ME HOW TO "INTERPRET MY OWN RESULTS" (NOTE: This was sarcasm. He really is retarded)

And about the "Let me explain physics to you". This is a video game. We don't have all the different swings we can do in RL. And from the animations we have, 2h has the longest bonus reach. Stop being an idiot. What you "think" is right, really isn't. Grow up and stop saying BS.
For the records, swinging a weapon in 1h really WOULD give you longer reach. In most of your swings from the right to left. Like it is in the game... Left to right? Not so much. Although the stab ought to be longer too.

Hilarious. You went RIGHT into raging about Poles vs 2 handers. Good thing that handy modify button is available so you can go back and edit to look better right? Perhaps I can give you access to mine so that you can make it THAT much better right?

Morningstar doesnt belong on horseback. Balance it by bringing into line with the rest of the top end 2 handers ie: Long Iron Mace also cant be used on horseback.

Passionate bunch of people in here.

I personally think that the morning star is a bit too overpowered on horseback, but that is just me.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

It's the best 2H cav weapon...

And it's perfectly fine. My only problem with 2H cav are those big ass horses 2H cav ride, because their model is so big and it's pretty hard to avoid it which leads to bump/slash in most cases. It's kinda sad that bump slash is the only way for 2H cav to get kills but that's how it is.
