I just read into the amount of metal fans here as a sign that the community in general has good taste in music instead of electronically plagurized riffs/beats and trite talentless bullshit passing itself off as "music" which runs rampant throughout the airwaves these days.
I don't want to rant about metal, really, I just want to mention that FOR MY EARS it doesn't sound like music, more like some aggressive noise making which makes me uncomfortable. It's like someone shouting at me seconds before the brawl starts (You know those guys who first have to "push" themselves by shouting and acting aggressively, instead of just doing what has to be done). I never could relax to such music. In many songs I can't even recognize some proper melody. Music can't exist without melody. (Of course Metal isn't the only music I don't like).
Though I usually get along with metalers perfectly, and if you can judge people by their music taste, metalers are quite some decent guys in most cases. Which I can't say about hip-hopers or ravers.
