Oh lord no.  I love all kinds of music.  Classical, jazz, funk, some reggae, Rock in most of it's incarnations.  Not a metal elitist, just a musician elitist.   

For instance I'm a Tower of Power junkie.  As white as I am it's hard not to groove out when I listen to em.

Clutch is awesome, but not metal.   

While some "heavy" bands are very trite and play with a severe lack of even fundamental musicianship and instrumental mastery, they still possess some modicum of talent and musical skill unlike what I was bashing on in the previous post.     Also if any band hails in a genre with "core" somewhere in the name, that isn't original hardcore, chances are they are the drivel you're referring to.

Stoner Rock was the first rock genre to me, I like that the most. Good desert riffs, never fail to deliver the message.
