How about bringing the 1 slot per item thing back, but making it so players can only bring one of cartain types of weapons like polearms, shields bows...?

I dont know if this is possible to implement. But I think it would be preferable. overstackers would still suffer a weight penalty.

edit: you could have one of each if you wanted, like, you could bring a good shield+sword and a greataxe.

I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

But then ranged units can't bring extra ammo.
I play 2h/cav, but that just seems unfair.

This is of course assuming that arrows, bolts, and throwing weapons would be included in the slot limitations. If not, carry on.

What? The only thing you couldn't bring would be an extra bow... You'd still have 3 slots to bring anything else...

Then we will have people complaining that archers can defend themselves in melee with large melee weapons again... forgetting that moments before they were complaining that archers were running and never melee :lol: round circle to the good old days again!  :lol: :lol: :lol:

It says one of certain kinds of weapons, then lists polearms shields and bows, so I assumed that the one of each kind limitation applied to ammo too.

This might solve the roof camping problem, or not.. but anyway here are my reasons why I definitely vote yes:

Now that I'm shielder, I use huscarl so I don't have space for ladders, but if huscarl would take only 1 slot I could bring ladder and because it would take only 1 slot, I could bring also even another ladder. And if I'm right the ladder's weight doesn't reduce your weapon speed or walking speed unless it's in your hand, and they don't require repairs.

I know that there will be haters who start saying "then the battle would be ruined cuz there're way too many ladders and so on" but we could even try this out.
