If the TDM servers were not connected to the database, or gave as much experience as DTV, I'd be game for it.

I can also see people abusing the system by idling.

Yeah, same here. Only if its not connected we would have tincans and elephants all over the place.

^that is how they abused them in the first place.

i wanted to leave it alone and keep it in the past but seeing how you guys are unaware of it and dont believe me this is one of the reasons why

it was kinda hush hush and behind doors except for maybe this thread.personally i think that should be left alone but i only brought it up because it is related

this is why the old xp system would be better imo it would make it so this glitch or loophole would not be abused seeing how they main way of xp gain was from killing and staying near the battle (which arena the main TDM/DM map would be perfect)

well i assume the upkeep system would be in place as well but the old way of gaining gold and xp would be implemented? idk it would be an interesting concept

+1 for straight up death match.
+1 for CTF
+1 for king of the hill.
+1 for more game modes.
+1 for invasion style flood with wave after wave of crazy shit until finally a wall of tin cans come at you and you die!

Could bring in a bounty system. Where you only get gold and xp for kills and as you get a longer and longer streak the bounty on your head goes up and up. Plus have upkeep tick every 3 or 4 min, but I've got no idea if that would work with the upkeep.

#1 Ppl want to play TDM
#2 Ppl who dont want to play siege but want instant respawn now have somewhere to go
#3 Ppl who play siege after that can now rage at ppl and tell them to go play TDM
#4 WIN!

HUGE +1 on this.

Love me some TDM and DM especially.  Probably my favorite modes and I wish cRPG had them. 
Other good modes though are CTF, Rabbit and KotH mode would kick ass too.

But not to derail from the OP... TDM.  Yes, yes, and more yes.  I drink to this repeatedly.  And then some.

so much positive responses! 87% is also pretty explicit. We only need more votes.

Also I would like to now how much work it would be approximately to code and implement. It seems to me the 'hardest' work would be to decide if and how xp/gold works and to set spawn points in battle maps.

Was talking about this last night, would be nice to play siege with people that actually want to play siege & don't just use the server as a death match server.

ya after the abuse they just took it out i would love if they brought it back with a xp/gold system that couldnt be abused

Needs to be done. I load up mount and musket every now and then simply because I crave TDM and they always have a decent server there.

Battle is ok, but sometimes it gets boring, and siege is no TDM.
