I proposed a fun north vs. south battle now that the votes were over and proposed that California could be on the side of the south to help balance things out since both New York and California had strong players. This sparks a very brief historical debate, where I agree that the leadership of California and the leadership of the south were at odds but what the average citizen wanted back then was the same and had nothing to do with slavery.

Smooth then goes off on a tirade where he personally insults me and drops racial slurs while at the same time calling me a racist.

No, it wasn't.  You are a traitor revisionist and sympathizer, and thus a disgusting human being with no moral or ethic compass, a failed education, and are probably a racist. 

Let us quote the famous "Cornerstone Speech" of the Vice-President of the traitor States of America, Alexander Stephens, laying out the true meaning of the Confederacy, a few weeks after the first states seceded.

I pretty much agree with him, the whole "it wasn't about slavery, it was about states rights" meme is pure historical revisionism. I wouldn't call people who suscribe to it racist necessarily. Just misinformed. Not really too unusual to salvage some type of honorable reason for a war that many people's ancestors died in.
Then again, I also agree with you that he shouldn't be an admin.

I'm not saying it wasn't about slavery. He makes it seem like that in his post. The rich ran things, and the politicians. They cared about slavery. The average person wasn't rich enough to run a plantation themselves. The kids who were off dying in this war didn't. I was talking about the every day person in California and the South probably agreed on most fundamental things. I know the people running shit made it about racism, but the citizenry who supported the South didn't want Uncle Sam meddling in their business.

Anyways that's not the point. The point is he is okay with trolling and using racial slurs on the official CRPG forums. That's not okay. When you are a moderator you should conduct yourself in a professional civil manner and not act that way.

If you look at history, democrats were actually the opposition party at the time. The republican party back then was the more progressive party.

You have to look at historic and cultural context.

Have you not heard of context, Smooth? I was talking about what the average citizen cared about, not about what the politicians or people running the states wanted.
