so besides doing close to double the dmg of an equivilent cut weapon, I dont know about you but I dont have all day to try and hit a tincan 8-11 times with a cut weapon to kill them.  They will have friends show up before that.

Your comparison isn't very accurate in the sense that your comparing the BEST hammer weapon to a sword that is ideal for its speed and length.

Try your calculation again with a Langes Messer, or Long Espada Stabs, or other swords that have superiour stats in every context except for the fact they don't do blunt damage or have a knock down.

Even a sword designed for speed and length will still land a hit on plate armour instead of being completely negated.

When armour values were changed hammer class weapons were indirectly nerfed.

Sorry dude, you are dead wrong.  Anyone attacking tincans with a sword is stupid. 

Is it easier to get hits with a sword? Sure
Will you likely land more hits with a sword? Sure


Its quite the opposite of what you're staying.  Armor absorbs MUCH more sword damage these days than it used to.  Sure you can stagger guys in plate with some rinkedink sword but you will sit there hacking away for minutes before you kill them.  Blunt on the other hand, knocks them down, gives you free hits and takes half the number of hits.

Blunt take a dangerous opponent and make them less dangerous when they're on the ground and you get free hits.  They are the great neutralizer.  Just ask the guys in plate what they fear, it sure isnt some sword that does 5-10 dmg a hit.  They'll gladly take 2-4 1h sword hits, so they can 1shot you, whereas the blunt guy knocked them down and just did half their hp in 2 hits.

doesnt weight enough and therefore gets less knockdowns...which is about half the point of using a blunt weapon

I beg to differ, and will see you on the field  *slaps Digglez with his glove*, with good PS even swords with be efficient agaisnt armor, and then if you can introduce their face to a stab or two, you'll be fine.

Warhammer isnt what it used to be, I now also swap to italian sword it feels far more effective, sure the old tin can takes 2 more hits to take down but at least it feels fast and I can keep some distance.
