I'd say open strat with the old map/fiefs so people can figure things out\suggest possible changes before being chucked into the new one.

If you mean old land ownership with no gear, no gold , no troops....then just a fresh start please. It would take 3 days of grinding gold and troops (presumably) before any sizable battles would be scheduled to test the new system.

I would GLADLY sacrifice my attacking power for a banner! Even a 4 slot only stab banner and I would still use it ALL THE TIME

I don't think using it as a 'weapon' would be any good. You'd never see the things on the battlefield apart from one or two. Now if they were sheathable on your back, like a shield(or a war spear) Now that'd be good.

Also, make it do zero damage and zero stun, then with that you can reduce its price too 0 gold meaning that the commanders will not take any skin off their bones to buy them.

...Or you could always have them given out for free on each battle.

Should make the banners be the spawn rather than a commander. Or make it so a commander has a forced banner. Then you'd really see some epic fights around the commanders and their elite guards

Yey give us the banners from 1257AD , they look amazing and are heraldic, each clan can carry his banner, that would be awsome. There are 3 or 4 model based on a 2H animation when you hold it, they are amazing.

You can give a slightly bonus when we are around a banner, like +3HP or +5WPF, or a small heal.

I'm sure it can be the greatest improvement since a long time

Perhaps you can give banner to battalion commander? This will stop them from using shield with 13 skill and make them rely more on battalion fighters.
