[Nerf] Heavy Cav Bump Damage

I have never, ever, asked for a nerf to cav.

Now I am.

With bump damage increase NA servers are being flooded with heavy cav, and it has been gamebreaking.  With a shield and heavy cav you can be very successful simply running people over again and again and again, they take high bump damage while unable to effectively damage the rider (unless you can rear their horse, but even then you'll just be glancing off the horse or the shield and they will likely get away).

Did I mention being ran over by cav is probably one of the single most frustrating things about this game?

I consider myself a very aware player, and until this recent patch good cav has been a challenge but bad cav is quickly exploited.  With the bump changes even the dimmest of cav are giving me problems simply because I'll lose a quarter+ of my life each time they plow into me.  It doesn't matter if I got a swing in, I'm using a sword and it barely scratched them.  I could literally exchange blow for blow and I will die before I could kill their horse.

Change please.  At the very least bring bump damage back down.

The servers are being flooded in part due to the new requirements making level 22-25 Panzers viable. CMP said he was going to fix that soon, so I think we should wait and see before nerfing it, as "fixing" the Panzer syndrome will go a long way towards reducing numbers in Heavy Horse Bumps.

That has helped bring the problem into the light, but if bump damage remains this high I think we'll still see very high numbers considering even average cav players will be able to help keep really high multipliers going.  Yes heavy cav are very very expensive, but it's clear after the past few days that they can absolutely dominate a team.  Worth waiting a bit sure, but I do think it needs some looking at.

Bump damage really isn't that bad. I've been bumped by heavies at full speed in my Kazakh outfit and it's not a problem 

There has been an increase in heavy horses on EU as well however. But in all honesty they haven't been game changing. There are very few good players who ride them. They don't get many kills.

well, when they took away our chance to ride arabian/courses and such with 5 riding, the only choice was heavy horse, as destrier is way too low survivable for me for instance and ye, on some maps i suck, but on others i get positive KD as a cav, depends map from map and enemy team from enemy team, do not generalize

I've been regularly bumped for 30-40% damage, and I use 51 armor.

I don't even get bumped for that much in my light armour  I think the maximum I ever really have is about 20%.

In 46 body armor I was getting bumped for anywhere between 10-40% by heavy horses.

On my 15/24 character in light armor I lost 30-50% on cav bumps.  On my 24/12 char in 55-60 armor (and 8 ironflesh) I've lost from 5%-25% on bumps.  Even against destriers and coursers I've taken a surprising amount of damage.

I remember one round my 15/24 character took nothing but bump damage: bump for 35%, bump for 40%, bump for death.

Maybe NA horses are just fatter.

huge problem is the fact that level 25 über-peasants can be riding the bitches for ever without upkeep.  if there were 2,3 heavy hrses amongst a team of 50 i wouldnt see a problem, but what ive heard NA is full of that crap...

Yeah, I have been bumped for as much as 50% of my health in 42 body armor.  They are proliferating more and more everyday and it has more to do with the bump damage then the horse requirements (majority of dedicated cav had 6 riding or more to begin with).

DARE I SAY THAT CRPG IS HAVING A TWINK PROBLEM???

(for all of u not knowing what a twink is it is a player in WoW that freeezes his character at a certain lvl to become a uber almost unkillable to other his lvl due to the fact he invest IN THE BEST weapons and armor to decimate his peers and make a shit load of honor and gold in the proces)

and i have seen a sky rocketing number of armored cavalry  simply because of the resin requirements of a courser

i havent really have dealt with the bump problems usually because they avoid a glaive user..but every once n a while when theres more then once they can easily trample me to death if im not always on gaurd

but like a said im a glaive user....so unless they have mad skills i usually got them on lock down to the point the only attack me when im distracted

so i can imagine a 1h or a  2h having major problems with this ovverflow of twinks on horseback puting all there points in cav n shield n trolololing all the way to the bank
(y oh y did they make it that certain blunts,axes and 2h's cant stop horses is beyond me)

uhm... i honestly dont see THAT many heavy cav around. Usually when i play i see maybe one plated charger, and 2-3 more various heavy cav. The most I saw on at one time in the last week was 7 heavy cav spread across both teams.
The only reason they SEEM like there are so many is because the heavy ones survive a long time.

Also i don't get all the whining, once unhorsed i get bumped plenty, but i don't seem to be taking nearly as much damage as people say they are. I wear loomed cuir builli over mail which is medium armor. Maybe the problem is you are in very light armor, in which case i would say "working as intended".

i guess they could bump some of the heavier horses up to 6 riding req.

hmm it seems to me that the only way a horsemen will be left alone nowadays is if hes required to go just like an archer for example lol

idk about that matter though just it seems like its related to the thread
