tought about the scimitar vs elite scimitar.

I'd choose elite over regular one, +1 damage and +3 length really matters, scimitar has +1 speed rating but other stats compensate it.

Depends on your playstyle, if you're a feinter then using swords with thrust is risky, sometimes you do the thrust by mistake instead of overhead or left/right swing, unprepared thrust (without let's call it "side thrust" or giving it some speed with movement) in most of the cases ends with you getting hitted after your sword bounced off the target. From my own experience I know that elite scimi is a bitch to block becouse of its model, so it's just another reason to use it over the others.

This pretty much sums it up why I used the Elite Scimitar as well. Damage, lenght, no thrust. Model less important though.

This game can't deal with curved weapons. It would be a shame to see them go, but I really find them pretty fucked up as of now. I hope they get to fix stuff like this too with WSE.

Close range leftslash is really pretty much an instant hit to the face with both scimitars. The only reason I block it is because they know it's a bitch to block and use it about 3 out of 4 times.

Best 1h weapons:

1) MW Military Cleaver - long enough, fast enough, has shit ton of damage, imho a little bit harder to block than straight sword
2) MW Steel Pick - insane damage, eats through armor in seconds, super fast but super short, can be fixed using agi build, if you hide behind huscarl and have agi build you'll be able to do super fast strikes and since weapon model is super small, being super hard to block, means that you'll kill a lot even if your knowledge of melee combat is crap
3) MW Elite Scimitar - long, super fast, not so epic damage, no stab but who cares when every your strike looks exactly the same... therefore super hard to block, called spamitar for a reason, weapon hits before model does
4) MW Warhammer - super short, super high blunt damage, has stab (LOLZ), decently fast and most importantly such small weapon (not so easy to block as straight swords) can knockdown a guy in full plate armor (2xLOLZ)

All in all, straight euro swords are for noobs and for looks.

just don't take the cleaver, too many ppl have it nowadays (when i decided to use it, the only one who used it was ramses).
Also, you should try the warhammer, i'm thinking of using it instead of my cleaver. But it seems nobody wants to trade it for a mw tatar bow ><

If you are a horseman, take the winged mace for over 9000 style points 

Dirty cheap (4k), faster than straight swords (98) , 27 blunt damage and knockdown, just a little short (70).

I thought cut damage was nerfed, so I went espada for the pierce damage on the thrust.  But I am quite noob and am concerned about the look.  Still, thrust is nice for when you have ten guys around a tin can and you are concerned about Team Wounding.  Still, if it is really that bad maybe I'll go with my second choice,the warhammer.  Tin cans hate blunt damage.

only thing i have to say is that if u have good footwork as a shielder, the left shoulder/head slash is insaneley quick and i dare to say never glances off, whiles the right reach swing , speacially on scimitars is hard to dodge with footwork specially like players as LoR who really know how to move forward into it. so what i do is usually power block and break shield/ faint hit.  in siege situations can get abit messy vs shielders in short range since once again that shoulder swing never glances and ur view might be blocked by a wall in ur back and him facehugging u shit like that. ah well imo only fix will be change the left shoulder animation to not always roffl headshot or lower speed slightly, since i dont think it is possible to make the scimitar curved.

i feint alot but i use the thrust since it works very well with feinting, and i prefer  blocking with the straight swords.

Exactly. My reason for picking the elite scimitar. 

Also Teeth, the left slash is no more instant than any other fast 1h. The "real" model is straight, not curved to the right.. so it doesn't hit before, it hits at the same time as the straight swords.
