Giving basics of the current system is not making a poor research. Well if you are curious about it you go in dept to topics and make your own. I admit the moving forward is a bit theatrical compared to addendum and a bit repeating itself, I can agree with that part.
But I'll give you some examples from myself
You know how I earn my money, I'm making art/science and teaching youngsters on very low rates to help them to be more creative. I've been invited to University of Twente for my mathematical explanation of form and aesthetics in 2009. Not showing off just giving a brief information don't get me wrong.
