Gotta agree with Hero, warspear is pretty bad for me as well. A lot of clear through thrusts does nothing, and my ping is pretty much always 30ish, on a bad day it's 40-50.

You need to swerve it a bit to the left, the animation on the warspear on foot in 1h mode is a tad deceptive.

I couldnt find a thread about this, but the problem seems to have been there like forever.

The lances used from horse, also pikes and spears seems to have a problem with the hitbox, making the hits kinda random if you dont know how to compensate.
This makes it hard to hit with the weapons, as you often dont hit the enemy when thrusting ur weapon through him/her, or sometimes you get killed because that wep that obiously missed you, actually hitted you.

What do you people say? Do you feel that this is a problem?

I commonly use the war spear, and thrust with it quite often, never seems to have a problem, with my 20 or so ping on NA or my 125 on the EU ones....the lance however seems to connect when the target is a bit inside of the model of the lance, not at the end of it, regardless of ping.

Very often see lances go way over my left shoulder and still somehow receive damage and I usually have 30ish ping.

yeah it started with .200 patch i often see my arrow go throught some1 like if there was nothing and also
sometime the video clearly show that the pike went way offside from you and still hit you and i have 30-40 ping

hitbox may be fucked but there is a strange server lag since .200
Dont know did it start at any point or anything (havent been playing long) but crossbows seem to have quite ammount of their bolts going directly through enemy models (no shields or anything, sometimes completely stationary targets not moving before, during or after attack) without hitting them. Gets remembered when it happens with crossbow, as reload time is quite long after "I did hit him but...". Also so horrible (fortunately not too common) when horse charges to pike and totally ignores it...

i always use my warspear but i havent noticed any "bug", yet...

But as i mention in my 1 post i got some seriously huuge lagspikes, no idea if its my internet or the server tho. Hopefully my internet? huh?

I've noticed it since the patch as well. My polearm can go up someone's nose and twirl around sometimes and do nada  :lol:

Yes, I've noticed the same thing with my war spear. On throwing it's even worse, sometimes jarids pass right through the target. I agree that the official Eu servers seem to lag more and Eu 4 less...

Pre-patch I've had throwing lances fly way over and past my target's shoulder, a moment later it TELEPORTS into their head. Literally just appears in  their braincase.  Hilarious.

I think that the War Spear in general is kinda a dumb weapon at the moment. There are two hander swords that do just as much pierce damage with thrust, with just slightly shorter range and slightly slower, but with the addition of huge cut damage on swings.

I think the War Spear should have a little higher thrust damage, just so it's fulfilling a niche, instead of just being a less effective sword.

Hm, I use a heavy lance as a cavalry player, and I don't really notice any problems. Perhaps it is because I am not looking. I shall keep an eye out for it!

war spear has stun on hit and stops horses unlike swords.
it is balanced.
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower

As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

Its just lag. it happens with every weapon with trusting animation. If i made a video showing my thrusts you would be amazed how i actually rarely hit the enemy in my screen when i thrust. I just know where to aim to hit the bastard. It also happens in shooting games, but is less noticeable since you dont get that close. The biggest your ping grows, the more leading you should apply. And i know its lag coz it never happens when the enemy is standing still or moving in a straight line. I wish we could see the hitboxes while playing. They must be really off the visible model when lateral movement is applied.
