Never noticed anything on cav with a lance.  I know exactly where its going to hit and in fact am able to hit opposing horsemen's heads.   

I always had trouble on foot, but I chalked that up to it being a long awkward weapon at too close a range.  With shorter spears I didn't have issues.

Maybe its a lag problem (my lag is usually ~25-40) because plenty of people do just fine with pikes/awlpikes (WaltF4, Ozy, Lucius) and there are plenty of good cav.

http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,1383.0.html Yes know this and reported as bug. I personally believe that the server itself is lagging. Since both players have good pings etc.
Why is everybody telling me to think? I think, I just don't show it.

Lance is fine so long as your ping isn't triple digits.

Spears and especially pikes on the other hand, they are a complete disaster. Pikes are so glitchy and such a joke (hitting enemies through your teammates) they should just be removed.

You all obviously never played really old v1.110-ish Native when all thrust hit boxes were complete bonkers. You had to have a sixth sense to make them hit anything. Be glad it works as well as it does! :rolleyes:

I haven't had problems lancing since the native beta, aka ever. doesnt seem any different now.

If there is a problem with them I think most people who have been playing for a while have learned to compensate, so don't notice it at all. I seem to do ok most of the time both on foot and on horse with heavy lance (heirloomed, but that doesn't affect hitboxes in any case).

It is off, and yes, people learn to compensate. It is harder with foot weapons, especially the pike.

I've not seen any 'off' hits with my lance, the only times I can think this would appear so is when you hit a moving enemy, the hit registers because you hit at the right time but by the time the kill is registered they're halfway down the map on falling off their horse. Or when pikemen jab at me when I'm slightly out of their range and then I attack with my lance in an arc which appears sometimes to out-range their pikes, but infact I'm only staying in their range long enough to jab my lance in their face half a second before or after they released their pike.

If you play as cav for a while you wont notice any difference tbh.

Ive played as an awlpike/board-user up to patch, and Ive noticed how the hitbox is a lil bit off. Not a lot, but a little. This aint a huge problem as the awlpike is pretty short, but it's sometimes a lil bit annoying. I tried the pike on my alt, and that was a lot worse, so it seems the longer the pike is, the worse the hitbox is.
As a cavalry from patch to now, I totally disagree with Serth. Thrusting my heavy lance against enemies, it often seems random if I hit or not. Some people seems to compensate for this, and Ive been told to aim a little bit to the side of the lance, dont remember if its right or left. This really makes using a lance or pike pretty hard.

For as long as I've been playing the Warband I've been getting hit by lances that "obviously missed" me and when I'm on a horse have been killing enemies that I was sure I hadn't hit either. What I have noticed more recently is a lot of my sideways blocks with a polearm are just ignored by the game.

I've noticed this as a war spear user. It's really bad at points and moderately bad otherwise. I think that thrusts in general are the most heavily affected by latency.
