i made that suggestion, but people just went OMG ARCHER WILL LEAVE PIKES LYING AROUND!!!!
i thought that was a good thing, but most didnt. so i suggested just lances instead.
Most archers are not going to take polearms at all if they are unsheathable and 1 slot. Its just a waste of gold, stats, and time. If they do choose to, they'll have to camp most times. Horse archers will be able to take more arrows with their lance, or a shield, or a hafted blade, but will need to drop the weapon to use their bow. Its possible, but distracting.
I tried making a not too expensive archer/polearm and crossbowman/polearm build with the unsheathable, 1 slot in mind.

Are these builds unfair? I'm not much of a ranged char player myself, so perhaps there are more op builds that can be made, share if you can think of them.
