So this build I went to 110 throwing. That lets me do full PT 5 with light kuyak, nordic warlord helm, mail boots and mail gauntlets (I can do lamellar armor and still pick up PT 4 weapons.)
This leaves me with 126 two-handed (18/18).
Kinda slow on the swings but I'm a true hybrid. I think I get about half my kills with throwing and half with two-hand. I still prefer heavy throwing axes over jarids (I'm just better with them, plus they're easier to find on the ground and they don't sail over the horizon if you miss) but it is nice to be able to at least PICK UP jarids, plus the extra damage I get with the axes.
I'm pretty fearless against cav with this setup. Too bad this game doesn't track horse kills. Killing the rider with my slow-ass morningstar is another problem but throwing does great versus horses. I'm like an anti-horse axe cannon.
Throwing is also great versus crossbowman. They basically get their one shot and then we're probably going to fight in melee because if they try to reload I'll either hit them with a throwing axe or they'll have to move and interrupt their reload.
Archers are more of a pain -- throwing vs archery is about even imo. At least it keeps them moving and jumping, though, while I close in. Also handy if they try to flat out run away. Throwing axe in the back.
And versus shielders I can generally break their shield, between the throwing axes and the morningstar.
My big weakness is just the 100% specialist two-handers/polearms. They have all their wpf in that one thing so I can't match their speed; and their armor is so heavy that the throwing axes aren't going to cut it. I don't particularly envy them though because they get shot to pieces by archers and crossbows and are pretty mediocre versus cav. (A good twohander with one of the greatswords can do pretty good against cav but it's risky in my experience. Cav can also just circle and hang close waiting for you to get distracted, whereas if they do that with me I throw axes at them until they go away or die.)
I think I may do better overall with a Longsword rather than a morningstar (longsword is much longer and faster to make up for my weak wpf) but it's so hard to give up the awesome damage and shield breaking of the morningstar. I mean, 38 pierce is pimp. Compare to the German Greatsword that's 38 cut and 26 pierce. So I swing slow but I don't have to hit you that many times, even against heavy armor.
