I guess euros don't know how to block. After playing there while na servers were down for patching it all makes sense.

the skill level on EU is, on average, lower than on NA in my opinion. they have some "superstar" players (olwen, leed, some more i cant think of) but your average guy can't block twice in a row

and it's not like the NA playerbase is that much smaller than the EU one, eu has more players yeah but there's lots of na players too, it seems ridiculous to only balance for eu. and the bec not being a problem on EU isn't really a reason to not nerf it - it's not used, fine, but the fact that it's so prevalent, particularly among the "high tier" players on NA should be proof enough of it being abusable

This is from irc after multiple people complained about the bec not being nerfed. So don't expect the bec to be balanced for na anytime soon as fucked up as this may be...

When I was playing on the EU servers last week it was actually pretty striking how different weapon usage was.  Instead of the longsword the Danish was far and away the most popular 2h and in general I saw much fewer polearms when compared to NA.

I would think if you're going to balance based on trends using the largest sample size you can would make sense, yes? Guess not

There's a specific playstyle that the crpg team favors, and we're steadily being herded into it.  Every patch it becomes a little more apparent: There are a couple 'no brainer' builds that dominate with little skill, and a bunch of builds that if played just so, with points distributed just so, a skilled player can learn to compete and usually hold second-tier.  Any time those nonoptimal builds learn to thrive, we get another adjustment.

Honestly I wish they'd cut to the chase and just take out the gear they have no intention of letting people play effectively with.

It really makes players feel really insecure about what they have done in game. I know many people spent long time on market trading the right weapon for them. Then suddenly here comes the patch that will change everything...

Of course we all want to be the best possible classes after the new patch so many of us will probably want to change again. BUT then ...what am i gonna do with all the heirlooms i traded?
