Please buff agility shielders a bit, IMO each skill point should absord 50% of the damage, also please buff all right swings of the 1h class, because they arent really that fast!

Also, buff steel pick, make it require 3 STR and give it 1000 pierce damage, corsair and kinngrimm need all the agility they can get!

i think these suggestions maybe a bit over the top. The right swing buff but may have something to it, well first a 1h or genreal stab nerf. To regain the old order:
Left Swing = fastest, Right Swing longest reach, Stab most dmg

or wait instead i suggest:
Left Swing fastest, Right Swing most dmg, Stab longest reach

that instead what we have atm:
Stab most dmg & fastest, left swing obsolet other then to animation abuse with hilt slashes, right swing what is that, people forget already how to block those.

Clearly the only solution is to make downblock also rear horses and block arrows.

Or make the right click activate some kind of force field....  oh wait... it's called a shield.

Funny how people whine about shields being OP but still refuse to take 3 less str in their builds and have 6 shield skill instead. That´s basically trade that every shielder makes and we are not whining about it all the time. :D

stab = fastest, longest range, highest damage attack

left swing, slower, much less damage, much less range
right swing, much slower, less damage, less range
overhead, much slower, less damage, less range

1h stabs consistently bounce at close range, unlike for example awlpike stabs due to the higher damage. And the other attacks all have pretty big drawbacks, the right swing being slow and the overhead being the hardest melee attack to hit with in the game. The left swing is only limited by its reach but that is rather easily compensated.

I'm not saying 1h animations are unusable. What I'm saying is that the power of the 1h stab is comparable to that of pole or 2h stabs compared to the other attack directions. It's just because it was shit since forever that suddenly you see people using 1h stabs just as much as 2h or pole stabs and it ends up looking unfamiliar and stupid.

I think 1h overhead and right swing are great right now. So many tricks you can use with overhead and right swing has its uses at times. It's a lot worse for swords above 95 length though. 1h no stab vs 1h with stab I don't have many issues since the swings are fast enough to punish stabs.

Have you tested with different types of builds because I think you have like 205 1 hand wpf iirc with lots of agi. If all your attacks are near insta hits I guess the stab won't seem so good. The way stabs are abused just makes them super fast to me, and you tend to get very good damage because of pierce and speed bonus. Then you add the extra reach and its too good imo.

For length it should go

Right
Stab
Left/Overhead


For damage it should be

Overhead (hits the head more)
Left/Right
Stab (because of the usual speed bonus and piercing)

Speed:

Left
Overhead
Right
Stab

Its not quite as simple as that but the swings all have their own + and - that make them good in their own way, but the way stabs work in the game and the damage means they have to have less overall utility.

Builds tested were 25/15, 15/24, 18/27, and 15/30. Also, I agree with you that stabs are comparatively better and your assessment of swings for a 1h balanced between cut and pierce, but it's not so hopeless that you can't just exploit their weaknesses. Nonstab 1hs also have slightly better stats to make up for not having one. Deal with the stab and you're on near equal footing, just with more powerful swings. 1h stab vs other classes may very well be quite a handful, just speaking from 1h vs 1h. Buffing the 1h right swing gave users more options at far, medium, and close range.

I think that the stats are okay since there are clear tradeofffs when choosing a 1h with a good stab. I think it would naturally be alleviated once stab sweetspots are tightened.
