Why not? It doesn't have to be realistic - Who cares, honestly?

"Oh no, my game of random mish mash of people with has people from different eras. It doesn't have to be weaker, it can have the same stats of some other armor and just look the part. Let people play to some theme other then "Europeans, vaguely Crusaders and Japanese in black armor". We have a few Roman-themed clans running around, give them some gear.

But.

Post the mod for it. Go onto the MnB site, find the gear. Post a link to the gear. chadz and company aren't likely going to make their own stuff for this and I can hardly blame them. But if you say "Hey look at these things can we have them?" then it's a lot easier for someone to go "Oh well, sure we'll just match their stats with this and here you go have fun kid."

Don't just say "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY can we have new Chinese/Roman/Japanese/whatever armor tia"

So. Um.

What? You want people's punches to hurt more? They can't block and punching is kinda haphazard, but on top of that... Why? What benefit would be derived from taking the time to code this up and add it to the game, if that's even a possible thing?

All I can see practically coming from this is giving archers/throwers a free backup weapon so they can fill that slot up with arrows instead. Don't need back up PS if you have Punch skill.

You're all being retarded on various levels of it. It's a Strat server, something the Goons have been lazing about waiting for to come back so they can play again. They're not going to sabotage it. Further more, it's going to be better then Ecko's currently intended Strat server on the virtue of hardware and less actual individual servers on one box. (See; As I am aware, Ecko's server hosts all of them on the same box, this Strat will only have it on one.)

There are whispers and observations of ATS (And such) abusing their "power" in regards to the server as admins, some in regards to old Strat. Did these necessarily happen? Maybe. Does it really matter? No, the server is run by ATS - That's a bias. This movement means that the server will be managed by the very makers of the mod and selected people among the community as a whole. Not just, mostly, a clan. How is that worse?

You all are speaking of Zealot being able to fuck with the server... Well, let's assume he will, for this argument's sake; chadz no doubt removes the official support of the server. Who else has Strat server stuff? Ecko. So Zealot wasted a fair amount of money and now Ecko is hosting the strat server, anyway. Wouldn't that be a good thing, then? The person you loathe for some reason or another gets damaged and in the end "you" still "win"?

Erm.

I don't see a problem? Archers have fairly expensive stuff - It's hard to get into archery, takes a bit (For your first go around things, at least.) and it only gets particularly accurate later.

I'm swimming in money in my AGI two hander yet I don't see anyone whining about that - I simply don't have much in the way of equipment, armor-wise.

Calvary and Heavy armor people cost more to stay around... And that's fine, isn't it? What're you whining about? Are you saying having several extra hits should cost less gold?

I'm all for having a load of different stuff purely for cosmetics. Could basically be mirror weapons of regular stuff - IE a Roman sword is the same as some other sword, stat-wise, but you choose depending on a look you want.

I like the idea in theory, but... Wouldn't this be really selectively used? It's like a cav person on a fairly anti-horse map. Sure, they still can operate but they wouldn't be able to operate as well as everyone else - Save this has this the majority of the time and further they can only really do their thing briefly.

In addition NA servers have a bit of a ban on constructions - Not a direct reason to say 'No', but another thing to think about why this wouldn't really be used.

Counter point; This would further increase the gap between 'big' factions and tiny factions in addition to the whole troop number thing.

With this in mind I don't really think this is a good idea.

Beside that new factions would have a really tough time against old juggernauts.

Basically what would happen is what Phantom described. I don't really think the spawn thing is a wise idea and beside that it wouldn't be a help on Siege battles, which to my knowledge is the main Strat' thing.

Making varied spawn points where you spawn the furthest from a enemy or something to that degree is the only real thing I can think of. Maybe giving spawned in people a few moments on invincibility?

Stop the personal attacks, god damn.

Back pedaling, to my aware-ness, gives a -50% speed... So unless it's a naked guy with 10 athletics verus a man in black armor with 0 the guy will be able to do just fine.

I personally use my speedy character as a rogue of sorts, flanking around the group and hitting them from behind as my allies fight from the front. The speed increase is noticeable, yes, but it's not all that significant. You'll pull ahead of the initial rush out into the battle field and you'll probably out run someone chasing you, but you won't be fast, you'll just be slightly faster then everyone else.
