Because you cant shoot through bushes on a normal client, right...those are non-collision bushes fyi
Hmm sorry I was not clear earlier. I ment that first time you see enemy through those pushes that gives you the unfair advantage. You can then see where enemy is going from there and he does not have that advantage. But well.. I have heard that some people have even disabled all textures to get them the best advantage.

My few pointers:
1. Better balance to map rotation (at least on EU1). Huge change to fan factor.
       - less open cav/archer maps
       - more city maps (old good ones, no need to make new ones)
       - more forest maps (same as above)
   
2. Only 1 quiver for archers. (Okay this may cause some rage from HAs and dedicated archers.. hmm that is 50% from players? :))
       - enough arrows already on 1 quiver.
       - archers can now carry melee weapons, at least 1 free slot!

3. Forcefield fix on horses (if it can be done?)
       - Example: Horseman runs towards you and holds weapon block or shield up, so your sword/spear gets blocked while you're trying to hit the horse. This is huge annoyance for melees. I have tried to imagine how horseman reaches his shield or weapon in front of his horse.. neat trick :).

Shooting through pushes and leaves. Not cheating? ..yeah...
People using this (or similar mod) can just feel how their penis/KD is growing each time they kill using this advantage.

Yeah and somehow always when I play with my main it's always a streak of village and town maps where I can't really live to the full potential of my build... Well I can always go on foot, but I'd enjoy more cav maps :).

Almost every map favours cav now.. So more please.. yep yep. More Dune, Random Plains, Field by the river, Random Steppe and so on. :)
I wish they would add some siege maps to battle. I don't mind some plains here and there. But more versatility would add more fun to all players.

In my opinion it isn't bad
Its simple mistake because I DO NOT believe then someone can make soooo huge mistake.
Maps are retarded, too much cav maps, no place to hide, sometimes there are only bushes around and a lite bit water sometimes village with little hobbit houses and open field around, there are good maps but..
most of them are retarded,
just give me place when I can be semi save from cav or ranged for 10 sec pls, I am getting sick because of that maps, but wait is general discussion topic soo what is your opinion?

In my opinion we need open plains but village and city , camps we need them more in equal amount for all of them.

Another day every other map was random plains. And maps between them where not great.
We need back more of those city / big village maps which offer something to all builds. Open plains maps are just for cav and archers and we have too many of those.
Earlier we had lots of great maps in rotation but they have once again disappeared. I guess they got removed because cav players qmd them, which is sad. This makes me wonder that casting votes to maps through qmu/qmd has failed badly. Of course I can be wrong and everybody loves open plains because they supposedly "increase" teamplay.. :) Have not seen lots of that in EU1.

I don't think most people have any sympathy for the HA cause because you are by far and away the cheapest class in C-RPG.
Mmm yea right. That's why I made 20k gold in one generation playing as a HA. Also same as a foot archer in one gen.
Some people maybe don't just understand that arrows break more often and so playing as a HA (or foot archer) will be much more costly then playing as a medium armored 2H / 1H+Shield when you can make 200k+. Just pointing this fact.

And yes nerf on archers (and xbows) was little bit over the top.

Current archer damage is good as it is.
My solution is to cut the spam effect from them -> Maximum 1 quiver for archers. They have to conserve their ammo. And this way they will always have slots for melee weapons so they can't use that excuse when running away.

1. Maximum 1 quiver for archers.
2. More variance in map cycle. Now (at EU1) it's just ruins, desert with few houses, random plains, ruins and so on. There used to be great maps like some forests and swamp maps where battle was not always the same. Problem can be easily solved by adding more variance to maps where battles commence.

Totally agree. This needs to be changed as the way it was before. Every round swap-swap-swap x1-x2-x1-x2...
Old system was good as it was. Sometimes there were long x1 games but also there were rewarding x5 moments.

General Discussion / Don't we have enough of random plains/desert maps?

So tonight I was playing on EU Server 1 and there were typical desert maps with few houses where archers camped on the roof and cavalry run around the map.
After few hours came one good map. Winter forest map and there were not any houses to camp.. just lots of trees and small hills. Me and my friend were thinking: "Yes, finally great map!" Then admin polled map change on the first round for random plains.. Cool.. more cavalry rape and arrow in the knee. Thanks.

It would be nice to have more variance on maps. It's just stupid that every map is almost the same. And of course some of those little different maps have been deactivated from the rotation.
Why every map has to be some open plains were it's easy for archers to shoot and cavalry to run around? Maybe more true village maps and forests?

It's difficult to see sometimes if it is raining (it's bugged and does not show to everyone).
With ranged characters this can be pain.
So maybe weather report to chat box at the start of each round.
Or static weather report at the top of player statistics maybe.

So there used to be bigger variation of maps in EU servers. Now there just are Random plains, Field by the river, Battle on ice and Ruins.
There used to be more good maps like:
- Swamp map (road in the middle and camp site up on the hill)
- Village map (tower on the dock)
+ others

I just wonder where they have disappeared. Or do people just like to play those few maps?

So topic says it. Now we have these people who starts polls to change map to Ruins, Field by the river, Village. And they start those polls many times during the map (maybe they are losing and think they can be better in the next map).

Skip map poll would then skip current map and choose next map randomly from the map list. At least we could then have more variability on gameplay.

Another idea is to disable map polls altogether.
