We didnt do as well as usual yesterday, which I think was due to the lack of combined arms.  I'm starting to think maybe whoever has highest PS has to carry Mallet backup.  I'm starting see why Rorik likes his 1h/2h build, hes damn versatile.

  I won't lie, there are times, quite a few, where I feel absolutely gimped. HOWEVER, I realize, and that's partially why I created it, that my build is definitely for support roles or group tactics. In all honesty, I created it mostly because of my research and reading how Varangian Rus were of course known for their 'barbaric axes' but also for their unquestionable skill as swordsman as well. Anyway, I can hold my own in a number of situations, but yes, in groups, it really shines where it is rather versatile.

Lol, I don't mind. Not a big deal if someone else uses the same image as me. That site does have some magnificent artwork. I love it.

name is not being changed anytime soon. and if it ever did it would be readily recognizable words to English speakers.

I figured this was the case, which is why I hadn't bothered mentioning it to you yet. =)

Also, concerning "horde", why not use a viking/nordic themed word for it instead?

I've been kinda looking around for such words to suggest to Digs, actually. I'm currently reading a historical fiction Viking novel and the character used the word 'felag' a lot, so I looked it up. Not sure how others feel about it, but basically it seems the word félag implies a sort of fellowship, though the author of the novels, who appears to be commended on his accuracies, uses the word to refer to the fighting unit of the Jomsvikings.

I'll be on the lookout for any other such replacement terms though..

Suggestions Corner / The Byrnja's Leggings

Not sure if this is in the correct area of the forum and don't know if anyone else thinks it's that big of a deal.

It may be nitpicking, but I was looking at the Byrnja and I noticed how terribly off the leggings are in regards to the way they sit on the body. Not sure how the adding/changing of armors in cRPG works, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed this? If they had, has anyone mentioned it to admins, etc? If it's been mentioned, is there any possible way/plan to have it remedied in the future?

I know everyone hates Wikipedia for validity, but here's a snippet from the wikipage:

'housecarls (Old Norse: húskarlar, singular húskarl; also anglicised as huscarl (Old English form) and sometimes spelled huscarle or houscarl)'

So, multiple spellings, of course. But for a Norse clan, the most common would be to refer to a húskarl or the group of húskarlar.

The Eastern Tsardom just recently added a largely historically accurate subclan based on The Varangian Guard as well.

Not upset someone else is doing it also, I welcome as much Norse as possible and Turisas is amazing. So, I say good luck to you guys.

A Russian Viking Clan?

I'm a bit late to this thread, but using 'Rus' armor for a Viking clan wouldn't exactly be incorrect. Though the word Rus is typically attributed to Russians nowadays, this was not the case originally.

'According to the Kievan Rus' Primary Chronicle compiled in about 1113 AD, the Rus were a group of Varangians, Norsemen, who had relocated from Scandinavia, first to Northeastern Europe, then to the south where they created the medieval Kievan state.[1]' and other such quotes. It's actually an interesting aspect that I've been looking into lately especially since my girlfriend is part Swedish.

Anyway, damn glad that this was implimented. I love the coat of plates.
