Suggestions Corner / Disarming?

What do you guys think about disarming in combat? For example, when you get trampled by the horse youve a chance to drop your weapon/shield (thats how it is in Vikingr, iirc). Or maybe just in combat when certain factors are there your weapon might be knocked out of your hand? It would add a lot od depth, like carrying a backup weapon in your spare slots or scavenging for a weapon just to have something to defend yourself with.

So, uh, I want to try something new on my alt and I thought of polearm crusher since I havent played it before. What build would you recommend to have reasonable chance to crushtrough against turtles and still be relatively agile?

I think its time for an archey buff:
- lower the weight of the bows and quivers.
  No quiver with 24 arrows weigths about 5 kg, and no longbow weights 1,8 kg.
  (My 70-inch long and 90-pounds english warbow weights 600 grams and my quier with 24 medieval-arrows(each 50 grams) weights 1,5kg)
- Add a speedbonus for loomed bows like it was prepatch.
- Raise the time-window in which the bow is accurate.
- Raise the accuracy of the high tier bows a bit, especialy the longbow.
- Add a missile speed bonus for loomed arrows.(if it is possible)

The tip of the pike should be poisoned too, so when you stab someone even if he doesnt die from the stab itself we will lose hp over time and die eventually.

Viking vs Samurai was a good and very close match up from real episodes.

That was one of the most retarded things I've seen in my life and showed complete lack of knowledge on viking part, people who know a lot about samurai culture had a good laugh too I heard.

The whole show is generally speaking just ridiculous.

I'm planning on making 1h+shield+crossbow character.
The crossbow would be used just as a support weapon to shoot people who are close to walls, are climbing the ladders, fleeing archers and such. Nothing sniperish. I want to use normal crossbow. How many wpfs do I need to invest in crossbow proficiency to make it usable for described purposes?

Being precise as much as you can would be useful, so would it be below 70, 70-80, 80-90, 90+ etc.?

Make pikes/long spears 3 slots and maybe buff the stats a bit, then only dedicated pikemen can use them instead of everyone with a bit of sense.

Doesnt fix anything. The point is to force the pikeman to drop his weapon when enemy is close and stop exploiting with lolstab, not to force him to actually use his pike all the time.

3 slot pike/longspear + no blocking sounds okay.

The actual, proper use of a pike longspear is not a problem. The problem is that, due to still relatively high speed of it and bonkers game mechanics of the lolstabs its completely possible to stab oponent who is right next to you and you can do it really fast. So youre not only a threat to the guy who should be cutting your throat right now for being dumb and trying to fight with super-long weapon in close combat but also you're a serious threat to everyone around because you can just instantly rotate and stab in a completely different direction and different opponent.


Good you brought up realism as an argument, it completely supports balancing pikes longspears.

Anyone else concerned about that the ultimate anti-cav weapon is also ultimate infantry support weapon and the user is not defenseless in close quarters 1/1?

Suggestions:
- remove the ability to block with a long spear/pike - since it just makes no sense that once enemy is close the pikeman can just swing his gigantic stick around and block like it wasnt a 3m weapon and, technically speaking, he can just keep jumping away, stabbing and if his manual blocking doesnt totally suck, he can live for a long time with proper amount of ath. He's not forced to drop the pike and use his secondary weapon.

or

- fix the lolstab - not doable I guess?

or

- slow long spear down to what currently pike is and slow down pike further

Fixing the jump would be nice aswell.
