First off, I'm not a person, I'm a Mogwai... Seen the movie, "Gremlins?"

Secondly, you are an instigator, period.  You have team wounded people every round in order to to get them to team wound you.

I have nothing else to say.

Thanks in advance.

I've always wondered the same thing... why daggers have no secondary option for melee.  As for one, I just killed an Ishtar HA with a dagger...

Suggestions Corner / Re: new battle mode - brawl
« on: March 08, 2011, 03:43:09 pm »
The other night while the admin was trying to find a map to test, we accidentally got a random plains where both teams spawned in the same location. Fun! If not really a new mode, I would like to see this on occasion.

I've been thinking this was a great idea for a while.  Glad you brought it up Zisa.

My original idea was to have a very small open area with no obstacles, and both teams were placed on their respective sides, but spawn within 200ft of eachother.  Then it becomes a true field battle... the likes of Glory, Braveheart, The Last Samurai, etc.

cRPG Technical problems / Invincibility Bug
« on: March 05, 2011, 06:31:01 am »
On Wednesday or Thursday of this week, there was an incident on the cRPG NA (Battle) server regarding invincibility of two or more players.

Myself and Apsalar could take an unlimited amount of damage to our characters and still stay alive.  This lasted for roughly 3-4 minutes, or one round.  It went away with the beginning of the next round.

I will post a screenshot of my character once I get back on Monday (I'm out of town).

For anyone else that experienced this, please advise here.

Already the new maps are much more realistic and very appealing.  Simple environments make the cRPG experience much more fun.  Thanks to the developers and admins!

General Discussion / Re: Banning spectators?

Mak33, you don't know what you are talking about here.

People are exploiting a bug in autobalance to constantly be on the attacking team and thus make sieges highly unbalanced and broken. A ban is perfectly appropriate.

I re-read your OP and your secondary post... I'm understanding better now.  At first I thought bans were taking place to anyone in spectator mode on seige servers.

It's realistic. People wore armour not because it made you some slow tank that would get obliterated by some halfnaked guy or gal that danced around them with fancy scimitar moves, they used it because it was effective.
For the really heavy armor (which is the only one that actually makes some people night unstoppable) you pay about 2k upkeep, so I don't see how it should be fair when someone in 0.5k repair armor should be more effective?

Wait wait, so you're saying wearing a leather jacket and leather boots isn't much different than wearing full plated armor over your body, arms and legs?  That wouldn't slow you down a bit?

It is not clever thinking. Ladder over gate is inadvisable, until it is fixed.

And yes, going into spectators on siege mode, especially at the end of a round can net you a ban, don't do that. If you really must, say that you will.

I have no knowledge on this topic, but my perspective on this:  Seems like this whole topic is bogus.  So a couple of cRPG players every hour gain an extra multiplier... is it really worth moderating that?  Really?  It sounds like a game of Tiddlywinks....

It's not even that...  They aren't even committing an act while in spectator...  That's like arresting someone for DWI when they're still sipping their 2nd beer in their own living room.  But rules will always be rules I guess...  God save the Queen.

I don't see the punishment fitting the crime, or there even being a crime at all for that matter.

Game speed

If I were to decide a good player should "always" benefit from wearing lighter gear due to increased damage output, speed and maneuverability.
This is already the case most of the time but I think the gap should be increased further.

I agree with this statement and you explained it well.  The gap should be increased.  I see too many "rushers" in full plated armor that charge for the crowd of enemies with a long polearm at start slashing away, getting many kills.  The reason they survive is because of their weapon speed, weapon damage, and amount of armor.  If one wear's chain or plated armor, there should be a larger gap in maneuverability, damage output, and/or weapon speed.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: 2 Questions regarding swings...

Kong Ming,

Thank you for the explanation on lolstab.  And I think you hit my #2 question!  After you stated that ranged weapons may play a part in it, I have noticed it when I am using my throwing class, but not in the secondary mode for melee.  I think you hit this one on the nose.  Thanks!

Can't speak to #2, but as for lolstab....

It's simply the thrust attack on most 2hand swords.  The animation for the attack makes it very powerful.  Many long reach weapons will not make effective contact at very close range, but even long 2hand swords will do full damage on a lolstab to someone immediately next to them, despite the fact that practically speaking, there should be no room to actually swing your weapon.  Pre-patch it also received a reach bonus that made it just as long and effective against cavalry as most spears.  I believe this aspect was reduced in the patch.  I think.

Come to think of it, for #2, are you using a throwing weapon in these instances?  If so, you're stumbling because any player with a ranged weapon equipped will stumble when they come into direct contact with an enemy.  No damage is actually dealt, but your guard will go down so they can hit you.  If this is what's going on (just assuming) then you simply need to switch to melee mode on your weapon when they get next to you.

(1) What is "lolstab" and why is it called that?

(2) I've been hit or damaged multiple times from an opponents single swing.  How does this happen and why am I affected?  For instance, I'll have my shield blocking an opponent's swing, yet a 1 hander is able to damage me 2-3 instances in a single swing.  It creates a stun effect as I stumble backwards multiple times within half a second.
