this happens when you trust americans to balance your turkish game. They FUBAR'ed mod in my humble opinion.
Yes! Turks should be balancing this game!

Give the mod to me. I will introduce true steppe warfare into the mod, instead of this knight & samurai (hollywood) wannabeness.

What is boggling me is, people here state they do not want men in this thread but a significant portion of profile signatures/avatars state otherwise.

Thank god for these patches. With every balance change, we are getting a more balanced game. Yay! The game was utterly broken back when more people were playing it.

Different classes have different strengths and different weaknesses, that's why this game is interesting :P

Actually, this idea is a good idea but it is bound to fail for cRPG. Because of one reason: The community.

cRPG has evolved a lot. Those who didn't like the changes stopped playing it and only the ones that liked the gameplay did stay. Others probably played other mods or games. That being said, the cRPG community won't welcome such a radical change while the ones playing other games will probably welcome it with open arms. There are always a few exceptions of course. Some examples are the ones agreeing with the suggestion here including me.

So I'd rather encourage everyone agreeing to the suggestion here to continue the realism pursuit in another mod. There are two mods that will suit it more than a realistic gameplay that I know of and both were suffering from low number of players.

-Battle for Europe (at least it is trying to evolve into being a realistic mod and it features a class/level system similar to crpg)
-Vikingr (it's nordic themed native with the most realism I've ever seen)

So my suggestion is. Gather up, stop playing cRPG and stop changing it to a game where the majority of it's community won't like it and start playing those mods.

Well I get it now. Sorry if I sounded like a jackass. It is just too many people use the forum rather selfishly in every way possible both in an attempt to manipulate the game to their advantage and/or spread every bullshit in their mind to as many people possible. I have come to a point where I carelessly examine threads and make a very swift decision, which leads me to making mistakes from time to time.

It seems you have the same intentions with those aforementioned people, but you do it in a rather good way.

Can someone explain this in an intelligible way?

It's because throwing is useless compared to melee fighting, and possibly other ranged weapons.

Did you hide any information from government by any chance, in that pic?

Looming a horse has more benefits than a sheer increase in survivability, such as speed and manuever boosts.

My guess is that the loom bonuses make the difference of surviving an additional hit for lightly armored horses and up to two or three additional hits, given those hits were executed properly (glancing terribly is not an example of that).

On top of that, given you're a good rider; a loomed horse makes you avoid from getting hit much more compared to a non-loomed horse. This is especially true for lighter horses but this benefit is arguably less for "tanky" horses since that little difference in manuever does not make up for it in most cases.

That being said, my horse rarely gets hit when I choose to engage in melee with my +3 destrier; yet it offers enough tankyness to survive against projectiles. I think a good defence and offence for cavalry is manuever and speed, and a bit of armor on top of that to survive those few unexpected arrows.

They should allow 1v1 mid only games for matchmaking. So everyone can play with people on their level.
