Putin killing Nemtsov would be a complete blunder and completely out of his MO so far regarding Ukraine. He benefits very little from this as he still has widespread support and actions like this threaten it. Killed by Russian nationalists? Most likely. On Putin's orders? It would be a very foolish move so I doubt it.

Nothing better in democracy than election years. The time when good governing decisions fly out the window so that pandering to the average uninformed voter can instead take place.

Yeah, grow a beard and pair it with an undercut pompadour haircut. That won't make look like a total hipster douchebag at at all.

Now that Leshma mentions it. Goscinny and Uderzo made the Asterix and Obelix comics and had quite a bunch of stuff in Egypt running. Cleopatra and whatnot.

Were they ever attacked for their work? Did they ever make fun of Muslims and the Islam?

If that wasn't victim blaming you couldn't have made it appear more like it than you did here.

Also, the point about Germans being disliked is so that I can do engage in retarded talk. Thought it was becoming the "thing" in the thread.

I really need to stop posting with my phone. The autocorrect really fucks things up.

You could easily explain why people flock to government jobs in the grand Estonian Empire is because you're not too separated from Soviet governance. Like it or not parental influence shapes you and where you will look for work. My parents also told me to look for government work and while it does seem really good on paper, the potential in the private sector is just far greater. In any event, you want talented people to work in government jobs. This is just plain common sense. I would despise dealing with idiots when I'm dealing with government officials (by this I mean members of the board of trade and Export Development Canada, not front line customer service).

My place has hardly any corruption(pretty confident that its not related to the case of "cause it hides itself so well") and the pay is shit, yet completely talented people try to get in there in lines.

Private may adapt with state and vice versa, but never count them as same. People go in private sector completely different reasons than those who go to state. If a talented person sticks to his position only because of his/her wage, than that is a pretty massive red flag. In my place quite often the people found being corrupt and dicking around with public money are generally people who most definately dont need it. And its just not here, its everywhere. Wage influences very little of how compentent the suit wearing politician is, especially considering that most politicians are uni degree owners and majority of them(or their families) do own several buisnesses. If you really look it up, im pretty sure you notice that not many politicans even in your place earn money exclusively from their wage.

Its basically a lottery tbh. In police, firedepartments and ambulance however, wage influences a shitton. Underpaying can lead to catastrophic results.

Speaking for Canada government jobs are covered but there is an understanding that if one spends a lot of time in a public sector job their experience will not translate into a private sector job. I just helped hire a new buyer for our company and one of the candidates that sent a resume had extensive experience working for the provincial government. I'm not entirely sure why he help but he didn't even make it past the telephone interview because how the public sector operates is completely different. It would take far too long to explain in detail why this is so but needless to say government jobs in Canada tend to be your only job for a reason.

Out of curiosity, where are you from?

Yea, instead of doing something actual noteworthy, hiding in some backwater dump and feeding oh-so-cute cats is certainly something to admire.
Hypocrites... hypocrites everywhere...

To you it's not noteworthy but to some and I'll wager to the majority of people you ask it is.

But I don't expect much more from a person that engaged in victim blaming after the Charlie Hebdo attacks.

Which you ofc already did years ago, so you went into some crappy jungle hut, nurturing some useless pets back to health...

And Germans wonder why they're so disliked in Europe.

I call bullshit. If practice has shown anything at all, its that giving large wages to people in government will definately not attract talent, just incompentent greedy assholes who at the same time are very compentent liars, easly capable of hiding their incompentence. Despite everyone reading this and rolling their eyes claiming that politics is mainly lying, I think you are really fully aware that it is much more than lying. If you are only good in lying then thats just not enough. The only place it does attract actual talent is police and other services, but definately not in pencilpushing officejobs and politics.

I can't speak for any other countries than those who have limited corruption in public positions. If that's the case where you're from you'll find the same attitude in the private sector as well as one adapts to the other.

Anders if you seriously think banks were forced to give out sub prime mortgages because of fears they would be called out for discrimination as opposed to their own greed I'm not going to even bother trying to talk you out of it. i would say that you're trolling but you're not which is the depressing part.

And like I said, but perhaps you can't read well so I'll repeat: government jobs must be well paying with benefits to attract talent. Yes, they have strong unions but so did every industry before they were successively gutted by right wing administrations.
