I haven't been playing much lately but in a few of the battles I have played, where Acre has been defending ungeared villages, we have not received peasant gear either.  Something chadz has done with strat has bugged the free peasant gear.

Muting him obviously won't solve the problem.

It would have solved the problem of people's virgin eyes being offended by racist words.

And banning him was such an obvious success...

I have honestly never seen the entire community turn against someone like they did to Sentri tonight. His reaction to an extremely minor situation was to throw gasoline on the fire, and for a full hour the chat was full of the exact kind of talk he was trying to stop.

It seems clear to me he has lost the confidence of the community, and serious thought should be given as to whether he should continue as admin.

I had an idea yesterday.

I think it would be funny to temporarily add a report system for enemy hits, say even for a day.  It wouldn't do kick the players or do anything else, it would just show who got the most mad.

Squids take things to a new low in tonight's battle with abusive ban polls.  Considering that you have to scroll through a list of players and ban, I highly doubt the first was a misclick, and the second two definitely weren't.

Way to keep it classy, guys.

I am so disappointed I myself did not entertain you.  I suppose my dry history does not excite.

I'm sorry Bryggan - I blame the brain damage from this thread.  You done good, and I always appreciate RP.

I just read 10 pages of this in a row, and I may well have gotten brain cancer.

I'm no closer to understanding this war, except that apparently Squids are determined to take the low road this strat, dick whoever they want, and justify it by saying it makes somebody mad.  There are about 5 straight pages of "lol, he mad" in this thread.

Ask yourselves - is this the faction you want to support?

Half the shit being talked about in this thread isn't stuff anyone else was present for, but was steam/teamspeak diplomacy being gratuitously leaked.  So, distasteful as I find it, I'll add one more bit of information from TS for the record.  I was at the meeting where Wesley and a couple others were talking about the merc agreement we had honestly forgotten about, because it was apparently discussed only once weeks/months back, not posted on Diplomacy, and hadn't come up since.  I asked them if we had done anything to hurt their faction as a result of this lapse of memory, and they admitted, straight up, that we had not, it just hurt their feelings.  Then they went back to badgering James, and negotiations, predictably, came to an end.  About one day later, they started this war.

Other than that, I'd just like to thank Daruvian (and Sandy) for providing the only entertainment in this thread, and trying to elevate the discourse to a more tolerable type of shitpost.  I really never thought I'd say this but

At last I truly see.

Diplomacy / Re: Failed Diplomacy by James of Acreage

James the reason I believe you wanted to go to war with is because you've planned it and wanted our fiefs.  desire offered to join us first. She said she would join if she could keep reyvadin. I really don't believe you're going to war because of desires fief. She asked to join us first and knew we would attack back and take reyvadin. You being the next choice and using it as an excuse to go to war is something I don't believe

I can't help what you believe, Pistachio, but that's simply not true.  I can only assume that you answered in the negative when she asked if she could keep Reyvadin, and so she sought help elsewhere.

Having heard out the messenger, who spoke considerately softly, the Axeman raised himself from his bed cautiously, and was relieved when the effort was not rewarded by a stab of pain.

The illness had struck him suddenly as he had been girding himself for the tournament. In a matter of moments he had gone from feeling slight discomfort to a migraine he could only liken to being bludgeoned repeatedly by a great maul.  Neither physic, nor the ministrations of his body-slaves skilled in the arts of the healing touch could give him more than the slightest relief, so he sent a messenger to excuse his absence and ask forgiveness of his liege for allowing this weakness to overcome him.

Yet it was not the tournament that preyed most upon his mind, but the news from the south.  Although he had taken to his bed before the battle, and as it occurred, rested uneasily with a heated stone below his neck, no illness could excuse him from the responsibility he had taken by choosing to offer assistance to Acre's newest member.  He could not find it in his heart to blame the Marauders for their decision to go to war - their honour demanded no less.  Yet his own honour would not have allowed him to renege on his pledge of support to a loyal friend of the clan.

It was emphatically not greed for land that had driven this decision - both he and the clan had expected that Desire would hold the fief as an independent.  Yet when she implored protection and offered to swear allegiance, none of the lords of Acre felt they ought to spurn her request.

With a heavy heart, and still uneasy stomach, the Axeman awaited a war they had not sought, but would fight nonetheless.

These threads are getting as stale and sad as family arguments.

"BUT MOM! JIMMY ALWAYS DOES X, HOW COME I GET IN TROUBLE?"

"YOU NEVER ASK ME ANYTHING NICELY! WHY CAN'T WE JUST TALK ABOUT THINGS?"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SAYING Y WHEN WE ALL KNOW YOU DID Z LAST YEAR."

etc. etc. ad nauseum
