A personal message has been sent to some people in team 1.
Please confirm on you've received the message over pms. (To me)
I'm in Team 1 huh.
What did you bring as argument for the team balance? Personal experiences?
I haven't received it !
On a side note, it's pretty hard to balance things with multi-clan, but all this doesn't sound too bad.
Good work, hope it will be a great time.
(4 days to level up my character, damn, better start playing. )(click to show/hide)
Very balanced teams IMO
agreed, I think we're considered the weakest team by some people, but we'll show'em won't we my dear electric wolf friend?
Weakest? hell no. :)
Bandits and Guards :lol:you steal their weapons and we sell them for profit, see, its all good ^^
Each team must choose a commander. According to the rules everyone on the team can suggest themselves as commander. The commander will be chosen by popular vote within the team. The commander must make a roster in combination with clan-leaders of his team.
-Please do this before Friday the 24th.
Archer fest incoming. Next tournament we should try to use only our main characters as you know everyone has archer alts rather than mains.
Is it possible to move this a bit? Why do you even need the roster before friday? I doubt all clans will have a roster ready by the end of today.
Just say thanks to Vargas and chadz :D
Details are yet to be arranged.

If team 3 and 4 will play at 17 GMT we have conflict with Shogunate Tournament becouse teutonics and shogunate cant play on both at once.
I think there could be some misunderstanding, for gmt do you mean london time or basic gmt?
for reference http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/
So you're saying the first match will be at 18:00 BST? All right then.
no GMT 7
I don't now bst but assume that is British Mean time that is corrected for daylight savings aka GMT +1?
Why are you answering the question? You're not Aemaelius, and the answer is by no means obvious. When people say GMT, they usually mean UK time. Hardly anybody actually adjusts for daylight savings when giving times on the internet, so I wouldn't be surprised if you were wrong about what he meant.
Tears sticking his penis is everything he sees :D
When I was recruited as a referee I was under the distinct impression that it was standard GMT.
Forgive my audacity for answering.
Jackass.
But a very valid question none the less... I think we might just have saved ourselves from people showing up and hour early!
Touchy, aren't we? Impressions can be right, and they can be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time I see you responding to a question with an air of authority only to give an answer that's completely divorced from reality. I generally prefer to get information like this from a reliable source.
Unfortunately, it appears team 1 will not submit its roster today.
However, we're working on it.
You mean "in everything he sees."
Why did the times get switched between the two matches? I was quite happy with the times as they were beforehand, seeing I gotta go to work monday
I just realized that I do not know if Russia has daylight savings. I assumed so in my above post.
It does. Now we have only summer time. Сlock shifts was canceled since last year.

Dunno about live streams, but apparently at least RipperX is planning to make a video about it.
Right, if there is only 160 slots, and each team is bringing 75, we need to place restrictions on spectators.
With only 20 slots left for everyone else, then obviously RipperX and Referees take priority, but this still leaves little room.
I am suggesting that we limit it to just 1 extra spectator per clan.
Hum... 10 slots left ?
I agree for the limitation : 5 referees, RipperX and why not admins/special footage guest.
No spectator per clan, else too many.
I am just afraid of Lag?
If we had one or two guys extra as spectators live streaming maybe subsitutes can watch that?
I don't think subsitutes need to sit standby all evening, it is primarily so we are sure we have 75 people on each team at the start.
OK I talked to people and the fact is that past experience shows that spectators increase lag.
I am very very sorry but fighting lag must be our primary concern and therefore I do currently not believe server will be increased.
Please understand that I fully understand the impact on motivation, loss of fun etc. But our primary focus must be those actually in the battle.
I will livestream the first battle of which I am not myself participating only co-refereeing to see if everything is in order.
And I can only hope that 1 or 2 spectators might be willing to do the same for the second battle.
any live streams of the first battle ?
ive Stream: http://www.livestream.com/teamiddqd
ive Stream: http://www.livestream.com/teamiddqd
Good fight. Hectic , but good.
P.S. by the end of the battle we've had some absolutely random cavalry in our team, is there any way to prevent that in the future ?
Was fun despite the result and the rage(quitting)fixed. :)(click to show/hide)

PS:
Don't troll me now!
Here are the highlights from my footage.

for example: I did a left feint and immediatly attacked right. Normally this would play out as every time, but on the huge event the right swing wasn't registered if i did it too early and it never happened after the feint. I did try this several times with the same results. If i waited a second before the attack it would register normal.
Is there any means to get this sorted before the next battle on my side? Maybe lower the Video-Settings? Directx7 or something similar? Or is this serverside and nothing can be done about it?
I think we need some rules to clarify the draws. I mean one time a team gets a draw with 40 to 1, next time no draw when the numbers where 2 to 3. Thats pretty strange. So it would be nice if there is either enough time to not let a draw happen or providing a rule that says for example, if one team is outnumbered by 2 to 1 the team with more players wins.
But besides that nice tournament, and good fights.
I would agree to this we fought (last round of match) 75 v 63 and we took the valiant team 1 down to 3 players v 2 cav, when they dismounted and began to charge the pikeman who had made no move, it timed out yet team 1 was classed the victors, (which then led to the subsequent trolling, and turned a peaceful match into a semi brawl)
I made a spoilered "how to" that might help your performance.
Otherwise more ram. Use 64 bit win7.
Especially cav must be very aware of this. You are used to run around finding weak spots in enemy formations. They do NOT exist in this type of tournament. Hence either dismount or charge. Odds are, because of your maneuverability, referees might decide that you are delaying match.
I could just run around on my champion courser delaying the match, and our team will at least draw every round.
I disagreed with that decision, Okin told me if I disagree I should leave, and that's what I did. No point of killing 10 % of the enemy team if there is one guy left runnning away so we don't win.
Sorry, what? I don't remember saying anything to you at all.

Btw., did anyone record Thor's introduction on the Fallen's training server? :D
It was only for the people present

Draws suck.
If it is really close to finishing like 2v3 or 40v4 and they are not fleeing like cowards then extra time should be added so the round can end properly.
If it would take a while to finish still then a count of living players should be done and a win awarded.
If people are in the opinion of the referees intentionally time wasting to go for a draw they should lose.
imo
I AM TOR
There are many problems involved in this:
First point if extra time is added commanders may speculate in time. The reason of a round of only 10 min. is for action to happen and not camping battles. In other words we will NOT be adding time to battles. However, we WILL do so that the 10 min of a round is only AFTER the forming up in order to check equipment. Aprox 11 min per round. Probably 12 for the first.
Second point. When the draw happened a count of living players could be done and if one side as a significantly larger % of players a win could be awarded. I am completely open for this to be put into the rules
Third point as such I agree and that I have already taken into consideration in the first guideline I wrote in this thread.
so tl;dr:
Do we want to add a rule that says: If by the end of a round and it has become a draw one team has more than 100 % living players than the enemy they will be awarded a win.
I see some point against this: What if it is 1 vs 2? that is 100 % more and could end either way. 2 vs 5 might be more obvious so if it is to be implemented a win will only be awarded if the team has MORE than 100% of the opposing team.
Advantage is fewer draws people may aim to delay for.
What say you?
Your memory is playing tricks on you. I'm quite certain I never addressed you specifically, and I don't even recall paying attention to any comments you made. I definitely never suggested anybody should leave, so I'd like to ask that you stop misquoting me.
Okin told me if I disagree I should leave
Okin told us if we disagree we should leave
Also, that round we charged the highest hill in the map with our horses, took us like 2 mins to get up there, only to figure out they fled down the other side of the mountain.
no you didn't address me specific, you said we should leave if we disagree
Sorry, but you're both completely mistaken. I checked the footage, and the only comment I made was that if the teams wore worried about draws, they should engage faster. I think this was a fair comment to make, because in the early rounds both teams had been quite cagey and spent over half the round time just skirmishing.
Again, I'll have to ask you both to stop making stuff up.
I think the general sentiment there was that ten minutes is more than enough unless both teams spend most of it camping. More round time is less rounds played.
Why is less rounds played a bad thing? It shouldn't matter if the rounds are fun. And I honestly don't think putting on a time limit makes it so. I think things should be allowed to play out naturally.
We tried that during the first game of the first match. Campfest was unbearable.
Besides, both commanders agreed that you would be playing with less rounds anyways, and using only 1 hour instead of the original hour and a half. They finalized the decision for rounds and time at the start of the engagement.
I don't think counting rounds is really feasible anymore, because times and rounds played haven't been standard as originally planned. Counting overall wins might work, but it'll be problematic if two teams end up with two wins. Maybe in the event of a draw, the two tied teams could play a rematch.
I see some point against this: What if it is 1 vs 2? that is 100 % more and could end either way. 2 vs 5 might be more obvious so if it is to be implemented a win will only be awarded if the team has MORE than 100% of the opposing team.
Did anyone record team1 vs team 2? :|

Recorded Team 3 vs. Team 4 battle so here it is ( added some story just for jewelry :) )I'm not completely fond how watchers are led to believe you guys won, but still a very good watch. It gives a good impression of what the tournament was like. Too bad you left out the part where I killed you, cause im quite certain I killed a fella named DesertEagle :P

If you dont want to risk a draw, then you should attack the opposing team before the timer nearly runs out.

Yeah agree, really nice vid, too bad my livestream can't be that good! :D But the quality of my comments and the video itself will improve next time. Promised. :D

Edit: The music is awesome... Which movie is the soundtrack from?13th Warrior, End titles - King Arthur
Of course, an ignorant viewer might get the wrong impression about the outcome of the battle.
I'm not completely fond how watchers are led to believe you guys won, but still a very good watch. As I mentioned there "The battle was won" meaning that we won the last round in the vid, "but the war - wasn`t" meaning that the whole match was won by Team 3 :).

Well guess what ? Team 1 kept attacking Team 2 all the time but one "heroic" rider managed to get away from the battle long enough to make it a draw (or was he actually planning to backstab or headshot all of us, 20-30 i believe was the number, on his own?). Please, enlighten us with a solution for such a situation, mister Einstein ?
If you dont want to risk a draw, then you should attack the opposing team before the timer nearly runs out.Unless of course "Managing to get away" is not the same as running away?
I say that, only if the other team is running away.... a win can be awarded for team A/B.

I do believe that I have covered that in my post. Could you perhaps in the future read the whole post and also quote it in full?
Unless of course "Managing to get away" is not the same as running away?
Draws in such events have no sense whatsoever, you didn't assemble 170 people to be making draws now, did you ?
btw can u add the scores too? thanksIf you mean the screenshot of frags-table then I have no it, I don`t screen frag-tables :)
I only quoted and responded to the first part of your post cause it sounds like a clear provocation for Team 1 (who actively attacked in all the rounds they played), while your "solution" was already dismissed in the earlier posts by admins and referees.
Not that i don't agree with it but its not easy do decide who was running away, delaying, or anything like that, someone will always question it. Personally i didn't even see the one guy who kept avoiding death and pulled a draw on us but if most of the people say he was running away then i recon he was. On the other hand: i spectated Leed and the other cav vs our 3 pikemen and they sure weren't prolonging on purpose, they just made the wrong decision to stay on their horses instead of dismounting. I'm all for common sense decisions in such cases: the first case was a clear victory for Team 1 while the second case was a clear draw. But if someone HAD TO BE guilty for that draw it would surely be Leed for not dismounting and killing them all. If anyone should be blaming him for not getting a win then its his own team.
I think some common sense rules should be made and leaders of the teams should be informed about them, so next time they can warn their members on TS not to run away, to dismount when needed or anything to prevent a draw. Main objective should be to try and win rather then try to hold for a draw, if you are unable to win then be a gentleman and lose. Draws in such events have no sense whatsoever, you didn't assemble 170 people to be making draws now, did you ?
rounds or battles?
We were trying to log on or stay tuned about what's the password to join, still no clue.What.??? The password to the server will always be given to you by your commander and they will recieve it shortly before match starts...
We tried to log on the IP for the proposed TS on the OP, seems there's nobody there or we're doing something wrong.
We asked for the password on the EU_1, got some 1234 and alt+x xD.
We still don't know the password to join.
Sorry we give up for this one, hope we can join in the next one.
Have fun!

Seen from a bad cav's view :P
Can I advise to ban from any further competition, the middle match GTXers? Would be good to have a database about who we can't count on.
Cheers.
Be my guest to do so, it's your tournament after all.
I just can't get more than 10+ people at this time of the season. :)
I think we can come with 20 aswell. :Dfrom Thovex.
I just can't get more than 10+ people at this time of the season. :)
Actually, last week when I posted that we had 30 people online, I'm not a person who can look in the future and see that there will be tops 10 people online a few weeks after.
Sadly it happens last couple of weeks the weather has been horrible in the UK and probably same in other countries. So this weekend the weathers been amazing and people arnt online.
Also last weekend a lot of EU universities held the graduation ceremonies/balls, and people are now on vacation.
I just can't get more than 10+ people at this time of the season. :)Interesting sentence.
Im gunna start paying more attention to crossbow bolts and couch lances i think,
awesome game guys shame the other team lost people (personally I think they QQ and rage quit after losing the first 4 rounds  ) but was fun will upload the screenshots soon also who was recording and my I have a link :D (ty bandits and my other riders great job yet again!)Livestream: http://www.livestream.com/teamiddqd
Im gunna start paying more attention to crossbow bolts and couch lances i think, good fight, especially enjoyed charging your shield wall during the last round, we suffered similar problems to team 2 in regards to getting people online.
i think i couched u once :D
Im gunna start paying more attention to crossbow bolts and couch lances i think...
Druzhina offered to participate with 15 members.
Would the greys maybe be willing as well and try to salvage team 2?
i think i couched u once :D
Having a preset and organized team to train with is nice, but having randoms substitute is really just asking for disaster. I'll speak with Cymro to see if he's willing, though. Sadly yesterday I think Acre was the only faction in our group who was able to gather the required amount of members.Your words warm our hearts ^^

I would like all teams to provide an aprox roster of people confirmed who are able to attend to make sure we have teams. If no matter what you guys aren't able to come up with an actual rost, at a minimum can we get some sort of expected team count? If we get it in by Friday, we might be able to figure something out if your team is a few members short.
Therefore send them to Tydeus who will be main referee of the battles on Sunday (I am away from a gaming computer with only bad internet and working...:( )
Although a bunch of randomers do suck, organized other clans usually don't.
Also Legio had enough players as well.
Your words warm our hearts ^^
True, but regardless we have barely have time to train together. And I was told that pretty much all of the other factions didn't have enough, which kind of depressed me. Was looking forward to doing better this time.
Also, not what I meant, good sir. :P
Sadly yesterday I think Acre was the only faction in our group who was able to gather the required amount of members.Didn't see who did not bring enough players, but Legio had 15 players at start (some from our m&m regiment, others untagged), and we signed with only 10.
Ming... I fully support this latest trend of avatars.
Indeed, looking at hot girls on forum make my eyes better.
Ming... I fully support this latest trend of avatars. His avatars rock :D
Acre will have thier 15 and im sure Legio (reliable as always) will have thier 10, awaiting replies from wolves, wolper and risen and bahi
did u spell thier instead on their on a purpose?
Also, not what I meant, good sir. :P
We got a standing roster. If not, we'll still have one. DOntcha worry, we'll bring enuff!
If no clan can be found to sub for team 3 then DRZ can only have as many subs in, as to match team 3's numbers. If Team 3 somehow has less members than Team 2 without counting any of DRZ's subs, then we will either split any subs from Team 1/4 between the two teams or not have DRZ play at all. We are doing it this way since none of you have bothered to send me the tiniest shred of a roster.
Tristan, if u suddenly allowed team2 to add another clan because of they lack players, then team3 also has the same problem. Even if you ignore the actually balance between both teams, either way it is only fair to support team3 with another clan as well.
MESSAGE TO TEAM 1:
AS ALWAYS, WE'RE MEETING UP IN FALLEN TS 30 MIN. BEFORE THE FIGHT.
22nd has to cancel today due to a match in ENL.
Sorry about the late cancelling, we didn't realize these events would clash untill now.
No, they will fight. Either way.

Those battles were both fun and competitive, Thanks to Team2.
ps: who recorded the train? ^^
Well done to all those people in my cavalry squad (mainly bandits a few others to :) ) you all did a kick-ass job and served me well, you listened to your orders and killed many an enemy! Its been my pleasure commanding you, until we meet again and my our clans stay friends.
A big thank you to all of team 1!
Searaiders, Guards, Great Khans, Bandits, Inglorious bastards, Aegis and Fallens, you guys did a wonderful job. Its been a true pleasure to be on the same team and command such skilled and disciplined players. I'll gladly have the honor of commanding you guys again in strategus, as well as any future tournaments, if i ever get the chance.
To all the other teams out there: You were valuable opponents, and I enjoyed fighting you. All teams came up with interesting strategies and they were all equally challenging. I would be glad to fight with you next time.
And a big thanks to the organizers and judges of the tournament, you did a fine job with a lot of patience.
Thanks for a great tourney. Can hardly wait for strategus now :O
All teams came up with interesting strategies and they were all equally challenging.
In other words: we were the ones attacking most of the time, the others just stood there and watched us coming. Equally challenging i must admit, whether it was charging the flat plains, charging the hill or just.....charging.
Attack truly IS the best way of defense.
A big thank you to Panos!
