Only if you take 40ish blunt damage from the fall from horse back...
Maybe a bit more nuanced: Or 10 raw unchanged damage+20*(1+speed bonus from speed if horse was moving) blunt damage.
Lol k try getting hit by a plated charger IRL and falling off a horse. Plated charger will break all your bones, falling off a horse will not.
Only person to get injured from falling from a horse is superman.

Only if the horse corpse soaking hits is removed imo.

If you implement this, you need to take away horse corpse hit absorption.

hmm i dont really see corpse hit absorbation as a big factor here. and the dehorse animation is already pretty long.

Every melee attack can hit one person and one horse. I'm almost convinced the reason people don't hit the guy while he's falling is because the server doesn't know where the guy is, not because the horse is absorbing the hit.

Yea the whole dehorse animation takes about 4-6 seconds depending on what kind of terrain your horse is killed on.
The only time horse corpse absorption is really a factor is when you have all the enemy infantry and archers spamming attacks where they "think" the rider is. The rider is usually not near the horse...
It's always a huge cluster fuck whenever you kill a cav person.

Because cav isnt strong enough as it is.

i dont consider cav to be strong, i consider players to be unaware.

Cav imo is the easiest class. The standards for cav are just very low, so many people play lazily.
It's somewhat unintuitive in certain situations, so it takes a few days-week to learn the tricks.

The downed rider animation is already a million times longer than the second longest stun animation, this would hardly be gamebreaking.

My opinion on this: rolls should be possible for eveyrone in light or medium armor even if bumped, even if dehoresed - BUT - rolls should NOT BE POSSIBLE for guys in heavy armor (at least much slower and not so far).
Rolling in full plate armor is utter bullshit im my blind eyes.
EDIT: maybe even tie it to agility somehow or make an atheltic skill for rolling, jumping, kicking, nudging, s-keying and all the other fancy moves no one likes.

(and damnit I cant even push the modify button instead quoting myself

Well then if you get dismounted you are just playing greedy. No need for rolls.

Implementing the roll after dehorse can not be combined with the horse corpse hit soak since you must roll the micro second you touch the ground, putting distance between you and the dead horse.
It would only serve to give skilled players a quick way to get up and continue fighting. Like it does for infantry being bumped or thrown to the ground.
The horse corpse is actually the only thing that protects the fact that cavalry players can not roll after a dismount, without being hugely in a disadvantage compared to barrel rolling infantry.

Honestly, rolling is too fast and covers too much distance. Right now you are essentially guaranteed to not get hit if you roll. I've seen swings go through rolling people to no effect. It needs to be slowed down and shortened to two body widths, not the 5-8 it is now.

You don't like rolling at 2000 rpms? I do agree with Murder on the roll speed it's too fast.
I think that all players should be able to roll if knocked down not just infantry.

I think rolling is fine, it makes you invinsible for the rolling time, which is what its made for, its takes some reactions to pull off and stop bullshit like bumps and knockdowns. You can take a chance and swing at before the roll, or predict it, hold and then attack when the roll is at the end.

Literally nothing else in this game has invincibility frames, why does this crap? The roll should give you a chance to survive a knockdown's follow up hit, not a guaranteed getaway.

Not going to happen. It would take far more work to get this implemented than what it took with the current rolls. I don't enjoy animating nearly enough to make 3x the roll animations that are all mostly the same thing.

Nice. Would be stupid to implement anyway. Cavalry would almost have two lives (one for the horse and one for the rider) if they weren't more or less guaranteed a hit or two when they are dehorsed.
